Gonna say Dwight, Chauncey is good enough of a PG to make 4 of your 5 starters quality, and Landry Fields should be okay when he recovers from his second-half-of-season-ass-rape.
Thoughts?

D12 shouldn't go there if Amare is there, so unless they trade him, I'm going with Paul in this scenario. Both Amare and Melo need the rock. Who better to get them the ball and bust his man's ass than Paul? Paul would be the better fit for me even though you could make the argument for D12.

we ain't getting neither imho. just be patient wit melo & amare mayne its only their 1st season together this season tbh. We & miami are gonna dominate the west after celts crap out & magic break apart imho. Dwright will join the west (the mavs, spurs or Lakers). Paul & Dwright both unrealistic targets fo us at this point of time imho

ummm this is a no brainer... cp3 without a doubt. Simply having him on the floor would give Amare and Melo open looks without having to create their own shot. It's like automatically giving them points

Howard, easily..
The Knicks are never going to be good enough, from a defensive standpoint, with Amare and Carmelo in the starting 5, unless they have a defensive all-timer..Howard is the best defensive player in the NBA, he's a defense all by himself..a Howard-Amare frontline would be disturbing..

Agreed, they both make up for each others weak defense(Amare) & (Dwight)offense.

CP3. Dwight would obviously help defensively and with rebounding, but I think he would fuck up the offense. Amare didn't enjoy playing with Shaq. Carmelo likes isolations in the midpost. Dwight Howard will only be taking touches from two extreme ballhogs. Unless Dwight is willing to be a Tyson Chandler or Ben Wallace type of center who only gets shots by offensive rebounding, he disrupts the offense. CP3 is one of the better fits for D'Antoni's style of play.
I don't think either player necessarily automatically makes them a championship caliber team but I think CP3 fits better.
