Defending champs losing to a team that lost in the 1st round last year, when that team is missing one of it's star players. That would look bad. Getting swept by that team, worse.
There were no great expectations for the Mavs nor the Spurs from the beginning of the year. Can't say the same for the Lakers.

I would like to go on record on my doubts about the mavs closing this out. If it ends its not going to end in less than 6 games.
All lakers have to do is win 1 in Dallas. They are not losing game 5 in LA. I could be wrong though.
But imagine the meltdown's proportions if the Mavs were to lose this series :wow It would eclipse the round 1 AND finals metdowns combined :wow
