View Full Version : Phil Jackson: "We'll be back on Tuesday night"

As Jackson finished up his media session to catch the team's 2 p.m. PT flight to Dallas, he was asked if he had thought about the possibility that he could be leaving Los Angeles for the last time as the Lakers coach.

"We'll be back on Tuesday night," Jackson said, swatting away the notion of a sweep and preparing to continue his "last stand" season at Staples Center for Game 5 and beyond.

It's a mystery to me that the Lakers swept the Hornets easily in the RS and "struggled" with their undermanned team in the playoffs. Then they beat Dallas 2-1 in their RS series, now they can't beat them - at home no less? :wakeup

Laker girls are cool, but the sweep looks more probable tbh . . . the last team I remember returning to 2:2 after being 0:2 were the 95 Spurs against the Hakeem Rockets. If they split games in Dallas, it will be over in 5 or 6 maxi.

Have a little faith, mono. If you removed the names on the jerseys and the franchise mystique behind the Lakers and just watched 5-5 play for these last 2 games, who would you say is the better team that's holding most of the cards?

I would normaly agree with scared mavfan. But this team has Jason Kidd and JJ Barea. not to mention chandler. I can see the lakers being swept.

He's afraid, Shank.

He's wounded from '06. And he's got a point. You're gonna win the last game next month, or, you'll join us in last place.

They're the Lakers and we're the Mavericks. Until I see that 4th win firmly in place, I'm going with decades of NBA history telling me there's no way in hell Dallas wins this thing.

Lakers will get a split in Dallas and win Game 5. If it goes back to LA for Game 7, the Lakers win.

If the lakers had a "switch" they would have flipped that bitch at home, down 0-1. At this point, their goal is to prevent a sweep.

CWEBB shouldn't a turned his back on Horry. We all know Adelman told him outta that TO to stay with him, no matter what, but, that dunski knew better.

But, that's for another time.

I don't do predictions, Jaggy. It's my religion. I'd feel silly and pedestrian making them.

I do post mortems.

It's over though. Dallas is like Memphis against you guys:::driven, exact, relentless, dispassionate, consciousless. It's a fine job of preparation & execution by Carlisle and his charges.

Kidd is wonderful. He just is.

If the Lakers were going to "flip the switch", wouldn't they have done it before going 6-9 in their last 15 and allowing Gasol's pussy to leak all over the place, Kobe to go into chucker mode, players to call out each other and Artest to go batshit crazy again? Now doesn't seem like the right time.
