will Phil Jackson really retire with that bitter taste in his mouth? He's gone on record saying this will be his final season.

Sure.

Unless they get Howard next year this team is pretty much done so there is no reason to stay

He may just go over to New York so he can end his career in the same place it started....problem is, he'll still go out as a loser.

he'll resign from the lakers and sign with Miami Heat imho. Phil can make the great better but the lakers do not have any great player now imho. Miami would dominate the east next season if they got Phil to coach them imho.

1. Wow, that is a crazy thought about Miami. I bet he would LOVE coaching those guys after dealing with Kobe's shit.

2. All of you a seriously blowing the Laker's loss out of proportion. They will be contenders for 2 more years minimum.

Dude doesn't need to inherit another championship team. Let him actually have to coach a game. Since he's so fucking great, let's see him coach his team out of this hole.

I haven't, or have very rarely, used we. I don't play the games. I just sit on the stands or at the comfort of my HDTV set.

Sadly I can see that if Spoelstra fails to win a title this year or the next. I think Phil takes at least a year off before reconsidering coaching.

It would be bad for Phil's rep to inherit another gift like that. It would pretty much cement the fact that he cannot build a team, only counsel one.

definitely

for as much praise as he gets, he's a big time front runner. He'll retire as soon as things go south. (Leaving Chicago when Jordan retired, leaving LA after losing in the finals with the Shaq-Kobe feud)

Phil already has his GOAT in cement. Kobe was just a pawn to get there, or maybe a bishop, but material matters not after the mate.

Jerry Jones firing Jimmy Johnson was one of the worst moves by a GM in the history of all American sports.

Jerry got drunk off his ass and wanted total control. Why would Jimmy quit after back to back titles.

Jerry wanted too much control, so Jimmy Johnson said "fuck you" to Skeletor and bolted.
