Good job Mavericks for just going out there and wrapping up a series that we knew wouldn't last long. As the underdogs in the series, no one expected the Lakers to have much of a chance, and they didn't. There is nothing shocking about today's game or this series. No drama. No upsets. No choking. I don't know why everyone is so shocked. The Mavericks just went out there, did what they were supposed to do, played their game, and beat a team they were supposed to beat. Nothing spectacular on their part. This is just a warmup series for OKC in the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers are the 6th or 7th best team in the West, and they showed it this series.

The Lakers were able to pull off a huge upset in the first round by shocking the Hornets, but that was because they had the officials giving them every calll. We all did expect the Lakers to at least try to win, but they didn't. The Lakers played a terrible game. On paper however, the numbers look typical. Ron Artest had 11 points on 3-for-7: typical Ron Artest numbers, nothing special. Gasol had 10 points on 4-for-10 shooting. Usually the most we can expect to get out of Gasol right there. Bynum had 6 points and 6 rebounds. Again, typical Bynum numbers. So what was the problem? If the Lakers went out and put up numbers that they usually put up, what happened?

It was the Dallas bench that won this game. Peja with 21 points on 7-for-7 from downtown, Terry with 32 on 9-for-10 from downtown, and Barea with 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting. That's just really bad Lakers defense...again, typical. But this is where the Lakers lost, seeing as they put up their usual mediocre offensive numbers from Gasol, Bynum, and Odom. A sad way to end Phil Jackson's career, but with second string players like these three, what did you expect?

Again, no trash talking here. No upsets. No surprises. Nothing big or huge. Bynum and Odom felt the need to play dirty and be sore losers, but losing to them should have been no surprise.

The Mavericks just went out, played their game, did what they had to do, and beat a team they were supposed to beat.

Again, no big surprises. No upsets. No choking. No shocker. Just another game. Good job Mavericks. The Lakers will look to rebuild next year as they've been on the decline for years now.

Well if by decline you mean 3 finals appearances and back to back NBA titles...I'll take it. I'd prefer if the Lakers won every year..but as you know..it is tough repeating.
