Question for the Mavs fans. Do you even want Butler back with the way your team is playing now?

They've said it's gonna be "next to impossible" that he plays a game before the 2011-12 season

Might as well rest him for next season. The Mavs are ROLLING right now. You don't mess with success.

I don't even want him back. He doesn't fit in at this point. The team is playing incredibly unselfishly and Butler is not the kind of player that you want in that kind of team.

Big game tomorrow for your boys. Assuming they advance, who would you rather them play? Boston or Miami?

Same banana for me tbqh. He'll dislodge a role that he might fuck up. Can you say that you would play Butler over Peja right now?

I'm not a fucking bulls fan. As for the east, I'll be rooting for anyone that plays Miami.

Well they aren't winning it. Mavs are a special team with unusual matchups. Once we face a team that can handle the matchups, we are in trouble. But yeah I actually did believe the Mavs would win against LA deep down. I just felt like trolling. :lol

Butler being out has been a blessing in disguise. They don't need him around anymore, and he's good trade bait to pick up something even better.

Maybe a blessing for Spurfan. That series is a sweep if he's in.

Nope. Rudy would have rebuilt Memphis with his bricks. Combination of Battier/Allen/Young is the reason Memphis could be on their way to the WC Finals.

Sadly, I have to agree. Memphis definitely isn't an 8 seed. If the season were to start over, they don't finish any less than 4th.

That might be true if Rudy was an inefficient chucker. But you're a spurfan, why use logic? :lol

Sure, he's efficient and I would gladly take him on the Spurs team. However I still feel Memphis is better without him. Don't be surprised if he is dealt this offseason.

I'm actually laughing that you think Memphis would have swept the Spurs with him. :nope

You still think Rudy Gay would make THIS season's playoff team better? There's a reason people are questioning whether the Mavs want Butler back. Or remember Jameer Nelson causing a stir and problems in 09 with his return? Talent thrown into the mix never guarantees success.

Gay is better than both players, but that also means his impact changes the dynamics of the Grizzlies' team even further. Considering their record following his injury as well as since gaining Battier, this season's Memphis team is probably better off without Gay IMHO. Not only has this allowed them to focus on the "team" and their D and working for the best shot and the best match-up exploitation, it's allowed ZBo to really become comfortable. Combined, the injury ends up easing the growing pains a inexperienced, talented team inevitably deals with at these early stages of their playoff future.

Marion>Butler as a defender and doesn't hold on to the ball too long. Same thing with Stojakovic. Butler is out of position at the 2. And Butler's defense isn't that great either. See the Spurs series. Stevenson at least knows his role and doesn't become a chucker. I will admit now that Beaubois killed our rhythm as well. So I'll take Marion's defense over Butler's and Stojakovic's efficiency over Butler's.

Obviously it's a bad idea for any team to interject a player back into the rotation coming back from injury if they have a good thing going.
