I don't know if this has been posted yet but with all the talk about how Rasheed gives Duncan fits and that he is the most effective against Duncan, does anybody have any stats from games where they went up against each other.

I keep hearing about how good Rasheed is against Duncan but nobody ever gives stats or show footage where duncan is actually stopped or disrupted by Rasheed's defense. So could somebody post stats on their head to heads so I might better understand this?

In the playoffs in 1999, Duncan had a game where he went 2-9 for five points against Rasheed. More recently (in 2002?) I think he had a game of nine points.

4-for-16 for 16 points

Also, 4/10/2003
Rasheed Wallace and Dale Davis limited Tim Duncan to 11 points and harassed him into missing 11 of 14 shots.

That was a long time ago. Sheed won't even contain Duncan.

Rasheed is probably Detroit's best individual defender. Prince is long but not quick. Rasheed has long arms, pretty strong, and uses smart tactical maneuvers like pulling the chair move. Duncan has to be aware of that. Malone did the same thing and it worked so I expect to see that in this series.

Nobody expects Sheed to stop Duncan. He just needs to slow him down enough, make him work for his points enough, and do it one-on-one so as to not let the other players get off easily. It's the same plan as Shaq, only physically the match up is more even.

"That was a long time ago"

... meaning Tim is older, fatter, slower now. In April 04, Tim and Spurs were in championship form, and Tim had 2 good ankles.

I've read where Sheed defends Tim as well, maybe better, than anybody, so don't expect any 30 pt games from Tim this series. Although Larry said "Tim will get his" and they'd try to shutdown the others, IBIWISI.

If Sheed plays DUncan to the point he never needs help, he does the job.

The Pistons allowed shaq to score more than the spurs, but they did it with ONE man instead of two, and thus everyone else on the Lakers got shut down.
