Hey did any of you catch Mr. Powell on the daily show yesterday...maybe a repeat...but he basically told John Stewart that their main impetus for going into Iraq was the WMD's and they were very wrong. They then changed the scope to try to remove Saddam because of his war crimes. Hey, that's fine...but a full fledged war...why not some covert operations...

I watched that, and it seemed to me that that Powell was playing the CYA game. He even downplayed the revelancy of the Downing Street Memo, even though other British documents have further confirmed that the U.S. had increased its bombing of Iraqi targets as early as 02. Well before the WH made its case for war with Iraq to the UN, the Congress and to the American people.
