Serious question.

I'm not sure. But I'm confident that he would be Euroleague MVP. Without a shadow of a doubt!

dunno, depends on what rec. league you are talking about. I've seen some serious ballas at some of these places. That and there's no TD to back him up on D.

You no longer get any credence when discussing anything on these forums.

In the adult rec leagues, he would finally be Robert Horry. :toast

In the kids' rec leagues, he would finally be Magic Johnson! :king

Read an interview with Billy Walton after he Champed with the Celts in 1986. The subject was whether or not there are NBA level skill players around who are not in the NBA. Not in organized ball at all. Walton said emphatically there were pickup games in LA where the big men absolutely cleaned his clock. He added no bullstick about how he wasn't trying, etc, he said these guys just reemed him. He was saddened that in his opinion there were not dedicated enough to be in the NBA. I call b.s. on that aspect of Bills assessment but nonetheless...

The question is not a joke. San Antone County must have 2 million plus and as with nearly any large city you're going to have guys who can ball. Now I'm not saying SA has as much street talent as SoCal but still....
Thus i ask from those who may have seen themselves.

There ya go. If Bonbon was reduced to playing center he may well get his ass kicked.

Bonner is a weak, unathletic, ginger, spot up shooter. Who would set him up in a rec center? No one, he can't handle or create his own shot. Angry blacks would dunk on him all day. He wouldn't be able to hide at the three point line. They'd make him his bitch and attack him in the post at every opportunity.

Bonner wouldn't even have to score to become the MVP, I mean has ANYONE in the history of the NBA ever stretched the floor like Bonner?

That's all.

Only because Popovich forces him on the rest of the league. The shitty Raptors didn't even want him.

I hate Euroleague, but Matt Bonner would never be MVP there. NEVER!
I'm 100% he would not play 20 minutes for any club in Euroleague.
The guy's a scrub and everyone should know that.

It would all depend if Pop was his coach and gave him a lot of play time.

All jokes aside, you would be insane not to believe Bonner would tear it up in a common rec league. NBA player he is. Take the shittiest NBA player & he would look great compared to others outside the Pro leagues.

So it would be no different from the nba, then.

No one plays defence at the rec so Bonner would be a super star there.

Eh . . . Bonner did play in Europe.

After signing with Sicilia Messina (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pallacanestro_Messina) of the Italian league (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_A_%28basketball%29) based in Messina (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messina,_Italy), Sicily (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sicily), 2003 proved to be a harrowing year for Bonner. Bonner survived a 104.5 degree Fahrenheit fever brought on by a bout of salmonella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmonella) (treated by the team dentist) most likely caused by a lack of running hot water in his apartment. Sicilia had filed for bankruptcy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bankruptcy) in the middle of the season and had stopped paying its players. Bonner's heat and electricity were shut off and he was given two eviction notices. Despite half the team leaving, Bonner stuck it out and finished the year averaging 19.2 points and 9.3 rebounds.

:lol 104.5 fever = brain damage

:lol treated by team dentist?

In 2003/04 season it has played in the top division of Italian basketball, Serie A, but took the last, 18th place in the league. After that season it has gone bankrupt and is currently defunct.

Bonner brings win wherever he goes.

Matt "the Mauler" Bonner would absolutely own the YMCA league, especially if Pop was coaching it.
