How do you know if it were the #1 or the #4 pick?

because

detroit gets the 8th pick and Clevelands 2nd pick was moved to the 4th

Because it was. The Clippers pick would have been 8-11 if it weren't the pick that got #1.

The Clips pick was the 5th most likely to be #1, while the Cavs' normal pick was 2nd most likely. Since only the first 3 picks are in the drawing, it could only have been the pick from the Clips.

lol clippers

So, The Donation essentially netted the Cavs the #1 pick, instead of getting a package like Denver, where they would have been 1st round/2nd round fodder every year..

I think Cleveland fans, Cleveland downtown business, and the Cavaliers organization appreciates their luck. But I'm sure, emotion towards LeBron aside, they'd rather have LeBron on the team and deep in the playoffs than being in the position they are in now.

It was estimated before LeBron left that downtown Cleveland businesses would lose close to $150 million for the entire season and that the worth of the franchise would drop close to $200 million in value.

The luck of winning the #1 pick from trading Mo Williams and adding on Baron Davis' salary doesn't really change the hit that city and the Cavs fans took this past season.

Congrats to the Cavaliers. After the fallout from The Decision, they deserve something else good to happen to them. And kudos to the GM for swindling a #1 pick from that woe-be-gone franchise - the Clippers. What a joke they are.

Clippers exec said at the time "thats how little we think of this draft" when they traded that lotto pick for Mo and cap space.

Yeah. They were SO very desparate rid themselves of the Baron Davis contract, that they threw in a lottery pick just to get Cleveland to take him off their hands. The problem is THEY are the ones who gave Davis that ridiculous contract in the first place. My motto is "if it is a bad idea now, it was a bad idea then too"

Dumb Assess.
