I have been a Spurs fan for over 30years now and I am sure there are other Spurs fans for about as long or longer here in SA. I have been looking for older collectibles from the Gervin days. This past weekend I was "antique"-ing at the Ironside Mall at I10+Wurzbach behind the HEB. I found some Gervin cards (rookie card and others). This guy was selling Staubach cards and other sports cards too (Robinson,Duncan,Ginobili). I didn't expect to see sports collectibles there (silver age comics, original star wars/transformers toys and coins too).
I am wondering if anyone else knows where I can find older Spurs stuff. I would post pictures of some of my old Spurs poster if I knew how to attach to this forum. I have a Gervin Iceman poster that is titled "El Hombre De Hielo" that I've never seen anywhere else. I like unique collectibles. Does anyone else know some good places to look in SA for older collectibles (comics too...)
If you have pictures of unique Spurs collectibles, please post. I know I'd like to see'em.

Here's a Gervin jersey that I found. I was hesitant to post and let the cat out of the bag but have at it...

I own an old Lone Star beer can coin bank which has the Spurs 1983-84 basketball schedule printed on it. It's just a regular aluminum beer can but instead of a tab on top, it has a coin insert.
That is an example of an older unique collectible I look for. It may not be worth money like sports cards or jerseys but it's an example of something different but collectible.:rollin

I just bought a couple of Spurs bobbleheads that were giveaways at Spurs games. I bought Tim Duncan and Tony Parker at an Antique Mall just past Boerne. I think the Ironside Mall that I mentioned last week had more sports collectibles but does anyone else have any other local suggestions of where we might find Spurs collectibles?

Tuche,

The best bet for bobbleheads is probably EBAY. Here is a picture of mine (sorry for the blurry pic, it was taken with my phone).

As for unique my favorite is my Pop bobblehead. In 03 they made a set of 5 bobble heads for the championship (Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Robinson, and Rose). You can find most of those on Ebay from time to time. I also came across a Pop one time on ebay, and won it. When it arrived I saw it had PROTOTYPE on the bottom so Im not sure how many of those they made. You can see a closer pick of the 03 bobbles, including the Pop. There is also a prototype of Jackson pictured that I found on ebay.

Yea, Ive been called different things for my Spurs Room. I actually have it taken down right now because our house is for sale, so unfortunately I cant get any higher quality pictures. Here are a few others of the room before I took it down. At one time I had (in addition to the bobblheads) over 15 jerseys hanging up. I still need a Ginobili All star jersey if anyone has one.

Nope.

I see. Nice collection man.

Game used jerseys are pretty awesome, but expensive. There is a Duncan game used selling on ebay for 2000

The POP is actually a prototype. I have only ever seen one on ebay (the one I have) and one other of someone else that has one. There are actually a lot of differnet prototypes out there that I wasnt aware of until recently. Good Luck finding it, Im always on the lookout so if I find one Ill try and remember to post it here.

I was moving stuff around the house and I found an old Spurs pin. It is one of those plastic circle pins and it says: "Turn It On Super Spurs ABA" and the background is a light gray color with the old SPURS logo. I think it's kinda neat. I didn't know I owned any Spurs stuff from the ABA days!

I was hoping they would make a Pop after this years title. Unfortunately they arent. Out of the 14 new ones for the title no Pop, very disappointing.

Also, Just FYI one of the old Pop's recently sold on EBAY. Listed for 700 and sold very quickly.

If I would have known, I would have been the highest bidder.
Now I am looking forward to David's #1 draftpick bobblehead and 50 greatest bobblehead coming out in October.

I've got some stuff from Gervin's retirement dinner, signed of course. I also have something I bet is the only surviving one in the world. It's The official stat sheet from the game where Gervin and Brian Winters of Milwaukee hooked up in a classic shooting duel with 3 overtimes. Gervin wound up with 50 pts and Winters had 42. Final score was SA 171 to Bucks 166. I think that may have been an NBA record for points scored in one game at the time. It was the best regular season game I ever saw in over 20 years as a season ticket holder.

Interesting note to that game: Junior Bridgeman had 31 and Mike Mitchell of the Spurs had 45.

I am so dissapointed.
They all look awful.
Timmy and Kawhi look somewhat ok, but still....... GEEZ!
I also seen the D-Rob ones coming out and they all suck too.
HORRIBLE!
