Is it even worth it watching it now, or is it too late?

Anyone that was born between 1975 and 1990 and did not get to see the Goonies...... thats just unforgivable. Your parents failed you and you should confront them with nothing but bitterness and rage in your heart.
It should be written into law that all parents are required to show their children this movie or face a hefty fine and possible review from Child Protective Services.

I don't know how I missed it, tbh. My brother is 2 years younger than me and he saw it when he was a kid. I've seen Labyrinth though, and he hasn't...but I gather that the consensus is Goonies>Labyrinth.

Labryrinth was one of those that if you were born in the 80's, you'd have to have seen, too. Goonies was defintely a classic, but there are number of titles that if you saw in the 80's you're pretty much golden.
Yeah, all of the reactions in this thread are justified.
You need to watch it now, but not even sure it will be the same without that toddler sense of wonder.

Even to this day when I watch this movie I still want my own set of pinchers of power and oil slick shoes. :lol

The fuckin' Goonies is probably my favorite movie of all time.
Mouth was my favorite character
Irene Walsh: Pants and shirts go in the... oh, forget about it. Just throw everything into cardboard boxes. Clark, can you really translate all that?
Mouth: For sure, Mrs. Walsh.
Mouth: [in Spanish] The marijuana goes in the top drawer. The cocaine and speed go in the second drawer. And the heroin goes in the bottom drawer. Always separate the drugs.

A long, long list of movies I have never seen.
Monsters Inc, every harry potter, LotR, and so many movies that I couldn't even name.
I saw American Psycho for the first time last year though. Was pretty good.

Nope. I barely watched the Star Wars trilogy like 4 years ago. Never was one for movies.

Or you could watch the movies instead of taking the opinion of somebody who is just butthurt that LotR is on the level of his precious Star Wars.

I've never had ANY interest in seeing Lord of the Rings. It's not my thing. I saw Star Wars because I was a kid and it was a movie in space.
Funny thing is, you sound just like the customer in the scene though. :lol

I didn't say you were talking about me. I was just commenting that the only reason I saw Star Wars because I was a kid and it was in space.
I really had no interest in seeing LOTR before seeing Clerks 2, and I thought it was funny how the guy behind the counter gets all butthurt about Randall talking shit about his movie. Fanboys (of any movie be it Star Wars, Star Trek or LOTR) are just funny in general when they get defensive.
There's nothing funnier than nerd rage.

Who the fuck hasn't seen The Goonies!?!? It is one of the best movies of all time.
Go to Thepiratebay.org and go burn that shit RIGHT NOW, they have it in 1080p Blu Ray, it's only like 4.0 GB, and I'm pretty sure it has a lot of seeders as well.

You'll want a Baby Ruth too.
Kind of like E.T. and Reese's Pieces.
monsters inc, harry potter, LOTR...not even in the same category as the goonies...
goonies is up here
monsters inc, harry potter, LOTR are all down here. whoever mentioned those as being the same as goonies needs to go shove a hot poker through their ball sack tbh....

Yeah, I can see that. I like the Harry Potter movies. But I wouldn't be shocked if someone my age said they had never seen Harry Potter. Not the way I would be if someone my age would say they never saw The Goonies.

I saw the Goonies too late, tbh, so I never saw the appeal..
I could name 5-10 childhood movies that meant more to me..
I have seen Princess Bride a few times. It's got great lines. Pulp fiction a few times as well for the same reason.

That's the thing. If you saw the Goonies as a kid, you'd rank it among those 5-10 movies that mean more to you.
