L'Oreal, which markets the Maybelline line was said to be launching a "Kobeline" line of mascara to match his burqua collection before Kobes gay slur at that meanie referee came out. Proctor and Gamble, makers of the Pantene, Olay and Secret brands were also said to be bidding for a line of "Kobette in West Hollywood" brand of mascara prior to the slur.
However some marketers have reasoned that any publicity is good and they think the gay community will be quite forgiving of Kobes confusing slur and think sales will actually be helped by the publicity along with the Bulls Noah recent slurring. Some even recommending a duo line with Noah endorsing womens hair nets and shampoos along with Kobees mascara and burqua line.
