Courts are goign to force them to release a fuckuva lot more people in the coming year or two, due to third-world style overcrowding at california state prisons. I can probably dig up the news article somewhere...

that's what this was, but the nonviolent ones were supposed to be let go and they accidently let out some violent ones

Executions take a long time because of the appeals and what not. And sometimes the wrong guy is executed and then exonerated, so it's a double edge sword.

I'm for the death penalty, but we need to make sure we get it right.

Drug users in general do not need to be incarcerated. Why should we pay to house a fucking drug user? Selling it is one thing, but using it? Take the shit, dispose of it, small fine, send them on their way. If they die doing it, that's more air for me to breathe.
