If anything sign him to block him from going to the Lakers. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to be back in Texas. I don't see Joseph backing up Parker next season (probably Toros or 3rd string).

I agree, expect very little from Joseph in the coming season..

T.J. Ford doesn't fit with what Spurs need at backup PG (shooting and defense).

Can't be picky. Ford's value is low because of being third string last season for a team hovering around .500. However, he can still play.

Interesting that you don't see a contradiction between your second and third sentences. Pretzel Logic at it's best. We can be a little pickier than TJ.

Well, his value is mainly low because he hasn't been good this year when he got minutes under Jim O'Brian. Ford as backup PG with a cheap contract wouldn't be a disaster but he wouldn't be my first option.

im for it. would love to get back dragic but doubt he would want to to come back. tj for cheap would be a nice pickup tho.

Doesn't surprise me. Looks like a good fit and he'll likely be the starter.

Chalmers will be the starting point guard unless he decides to leave.

I want him. TJ can play. He has a history of the injury bug and I think he is just frustrated and tired of the Pacers. I think he was beaten down physically and mentally.

I think he is physically ok. Coming back home to Texas and playing for a great organization like the Spurs with a winning structure and foundation, could be a great think for him mentally.

I believe coming to the Spurs will rejuvenate and reinvigorate him

He can't shoot and is suffering from spinal stenosis, meaning any game can be his last.

Thinking about the grueling schedule (40 of the 66 games are back2back or back2back2back) and how depth will be a necessity, T.J Ford for the minimum would be a great pick-up as Cory Joseph will spend most of his time developing in Austin.

He likely won't have a role in competitive/playoff type games or be a fixture in the regular rotation, but he would have a role as the 3rd pg (behind the Neal/Manu combo).

I have a feelings Spurs have inquired about his services and with him being from Texas, I think this scenario could be very realistic. Only time will tell..

I'd take him as a backup to TP...why not.

We don't need a PG.

We need a SF. We need a center.

I don't think I'd want Neal running point too much....

Then I guess you want Leonard and Anderson to sit a lot this year.

Interesting.

Someone brought it up today. I forgot who, sorry. But they said TJ Ford told Manu to follow him on Twitter.

Exactly what I want for Anderson. If he can't earn time on the court at position he plays than he can't play. No need to move Neal to pg to make room for him.

I guess this will be alright. I just really wanted to see what Jeremy Pargo can do in the NBA. I see no reason that JP shouldn't succeed in the NBA. We will end up regretting this.

I'm really interested in Jeremy Pargo too. How is TJ Ford physically? Is he OK now?

Don't get crazy now. V-Span is pretty darn good. Ford will probably be mediocre.

If the lineup includes what we have now

Parker / Ford / Joseph
Ginobili / Neal / Anderson
Leonard / R. Jefferson / Butler or Green
Duncan / Bonner / Dice (assuming he comes back)
Splitter / Blair / Scrub

Ford has been described as a true point guard (pass first), wouldn't that automatically increase Jeffersons value since that is what Jefferson needs? It also can't hurt Bonner (drawing Bonners defenders to Ford) and Blair (alley-oops) though I'm not sure how comfortable Ford is with those kinds of passes.

I would think this would be better than Hill who I have seen described more as a SG than a PG.

This doesn't look bad to me but I am not a basketball guru. I also am excited to see Blair get Pops confidence.

Blair has too much oops and not enough alley.
