"An SAIC (http://www.securityweek.com/content/saic-helps-us-naval-academy-foundation-cyber-security-and-cyber-warfare-initiatives) analyst has written a paper [PDF] (http://www.hsaj.org/?fullarticle=7.1.10) calling for the 'stigmatization' of the 'unattractive' types (http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/2011/05/self-restraint.html) who tend to discuss government secrets in public. The plan, described in the Naval Postgraduate School Homeland Security Affairs journal, is to promote self-censorship as a 'civic duty'. Who needs to censor themselves? Amateur enthusiasts who describe satellite orbits (http://www.heavens-above.com/), scientists who describe threats to the food supply (http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/news/research/pubpolicy_wein_bioterror.shtml), graduate students mapping the internet (http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=549768), the Government Accountability Office, which publishes failure reports on the TSA (http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/gao_report.pdf), the US Geologic Survey, which publishes surface water information (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/sw), newspapers (the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/16/politics/16program.html)), TV shows (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/13/60minutes/main583528.shtml), journalism websites (http://www.slate.com/id/2113157), anti-secrecy websites (http://cryptome.org/), and even security author Bruce Schneier (http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2006/04/announcing_movi.html), to name a few."

Maybe so, but this is from academia. Academia that fills students with such agendas. They write for the The Center (http://www.chds.us/).

I'm sorry, The Center for Homeland defense and security. A navel academy. It's a bit disturbing to me that such material is used by such places.

"this is from academia"

bullshit

"An SAIC analyst has written a paper..."

SAIC is a military/government contractor, a MIC parasite, out of San Diego that has moved to Maclean to be closer to its prey.

And the author graduated from The Citadel military indoctrination college in the joke state called South Carolina.

When stuff like this happens, we have elements undermining our nation.

lol half the people don't know what the findings of these papers mean. The other half lie and twist what said papers mean to support an argument.

The FCM fawningly, gutlessly letting criminal dubya and his criminal gang lie the US into Iraq is what this paper wants more of.

Just trust us and STFU. Absolutely no critical thinking and analysis allowed. There's absolutely no need to keep the government honest.

Above all, watch TV and believe every bit of it.

Government by press release, a compliant 4th estate and a fearful, mindlessly patriotic public, all but assure the success of this plan.
