It was announced today that the third installment of the video game, UFC Undisputed, will be released on January 2012. Only a few details have been mentioned, but the key changes would be the addition of featherweight and bantamweight divisions, a new submission system, and 'PRIDE mode', which allows you to play under the Japanese promotion's rule-set.

Here's a few changes mentioned in their announcement:

UFC Undisputed 3 will mark the debut of PRIDE Mode, enabling players to fight for the first time in the renowned Japanese MMA organization. The mode will include official commentators Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros, authentic environments and notorious MMA rules, including the ability to execute soccer-style kicks, head stomps and ground knees to the head. Finishing an opponent will be more important than ever through devastating new moves, responsive striking controls, refined visual presentation and the introduction of a brand new submission system. In addition, players will now enter the Octagon with a choice between traditional and simplified gameplay control options, enabling them, regardless of skill level, to experience the intensity of UFC and nuances of MMA combat while executing simple standing strikes or more complex ground and transition mechanics.

Players will also experience the excitement of a live UFC event through significant visual improvements, including the introduction of much-anticipated fighter entrances, new camera positions, improved facial animations and a gritty, high contrast appearance. They will enter into battle with an unparalleled choice of more than 150 playable UFC fighters, including talent from the newly added featherweight and bantamweight divisions. Rounding out the virtual UFC experience with a significantly revamped online experience, as well as a variety of new and returning gameplay modes, UFC Undisputed 3 lets players have their fights – their way – to deliver the most intense, competitive and engaging experience to date for the franchise.

the game got WAY too complicated WAY too quick. I absolutely loved the first undisputed and still play it every once in a while, but then I got 2010 and it was just a wtf moment when I tried making a career. Until you build up your fighter, which takes FOREVER, you move sooooo damn slow.

I liked the second one a lot, but build a fighter was a gd grind. You basically had to exploit the point system doing the same boring shit to try and get enough pts to make it worth doing.

The submission system was too fking hard as well. It shouldn't be easy, but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu that joystick nonsense.

Did they improve some of the little details from the 1st one? I remember the corner advice was horrible, just the same 3 or 4 things every time. Most of which made no sense. Also i'd like to see the fighters coming down to the ring and more choices of venue..

anyone tried the EA game?

I tried both and EA MMA just didn't compete with Undisputed IMO.

The thing im most excited for is the Pride mode. soccer kicks and stomps lol how much better could it get!

Also, hopefully they improved the controls, seemed too much like a button smasher on the first one and a little better on the 2nd...

I wonder if Undisputed will ever go the MK or MvC route and make it a combo fighting system.

The 1st one i found the ground game to be a pain.. It was so hard to lock in submissions and guys were always passing your guard with ease..

Nope, I'm the crotchety 30's male that never got into gaming, and therefore think all of it is stupid. Give me a NES and some Legend of Zelda, or GTFO.

Angle is the best professional wrestler when it comes to real wrestling today...and his mic skills are elite. WWE should not have let him leave...they should have done whatever it took to keep him around. Shelton Benjamin is pretty amazing as well. A lot of uninformed people don't realize that a lot of the people in the business are VERY skilled at wrestling.

If someone had actually said something, it may have happened. But like I said, I'd rather you not get banned. I was the only one that might have said something, but I'd hate to have the only thing that means anything to you in this world taken away from you. (meaning eating your chocolate and cheetos wasting your time trying to get in the heads of people who don't even know you, and actually thinking you're successful.) If you had any idea what I'd been through in my life, you'd understand..it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than insulting my favorite football team to upset me. lol.. Besides...you're really fun to laugh at...lol Colts.
