View Full Version : Dwyane's window is closing rapidly

I really like Dwyane, but I just discovered while looking at his NBA.com profile that he will be 30 next year. His game is totally dependent upon quickness and athleticism. Considering his age in addition to his prior injuries, he likely has only one or two more dominant seasons before he goes the way of Stephon Marbury and AI. I had no idea he was this old. Even if you squeak one by the Mavs this year, so much for 5 or 6 more championships, Heat.

Maybe, if his body took a pounding that could be true. Ginobil when he hit 32 years old started fading pretty fast as well when he lost some of his game, so around that age is when it starts.

sons was he too stupid to get into college or something whenever he "Graduated" from high school? he only played two seasons at Marquette and was 20 years old as a FRESHMAN.

Yeah, clearly the Heat are in win now mode. They are beast right now, but they're actually pretty close to when the Celtics were assembled as far as getting up there in age and will go down pretty quickly in the next couple of years. And I don't think Dwyane's game lends itself to the durability of Ray Allen, since Ray is not always slashing, but instead has a dynamite stroke. So that makes the downward spiral go faster.

:lol What a idiotic post. Wade has nowhere near the miles or games played that a normal 29 yr old in the NBA would have. He's not falling off a cliff like Duncan...

Yes dad. Per wikipedia:

"Wade sought tutoring to improve his writing skills in order to regain eligibility."

So that right there is kinda suspect.

He's going to have to develop a jumper soon, but he can keep playing like this for a few more years. Two years is enough to make the transition if he dedicates a lot of time to it.

Well, he isn't in diapers yet, but he's getting up there. You can kinda see it on his face. He's looking tired a lot these days.

Good observation. So that goes along with what I'm saying. He has one or two more possibly dominant seasons unless he gets injured, and then, he'll have to reform his game for the last one or two years of his career as he becomes a role player.

He will last a lot longer because he has Lebron to take away the attention from him on defense much like how Pippen exended MJ's career during the late 90's.

He is probably going to work on his jumpshot and turn his type of play around like Jason Kidd did.

A superstar who just signed with younger Lebron and Bosh, best competition on the league is becoming too old (Boston, LA, San Antonio, Dallas), yeah....I think you have it ass backwards because it seems Wade's championship window has significantly increased.

It must pretty damn nice to take turns at taking over series. LBJ does it against Boston and Chicago, Wade against Dallas. These guys are just taking easy against everyone else.

Then I'll give Wade's shit bag to The Compost Pile. His window has got like a Brazilian inch left.

He's been as long as LeBron, this way I say Wade is not a typical 29yr old in the NBA..

Yeah, not typical in that he must have been held back at least 3 years in school. Even retarded NBA players can cheat/bribe their way through grade school.

Clearly Wade will lose a step in the next two years at his age. Then Bron Bron will be SOL. The Heat are not going to get any better, so if they don't win it now, they are unlikely to win it next year and may not win any championships as assembled. The role players will get old very quickly, other than Chalmers, who has a limited ceiling and is one dimensional. The Heat have already maxed out their potential and have no additional upside as Bron is in his prime and Wade is in my opinion already past his prime.

Time flies alright, especially if you're an NBA Superstar. Of course Dwyane will continue to be really great for the next 2-3 years, but he is not getting any better and will only decline, which is why I don't think the Heat are runaway candidates to win it every year for the next 5 years. It's really going to be tough for them, even if they win it this year. Teams like OKC and Memphis will give them fits with their athleticism, youth and arguably within a couple of years, both teams will have talent equal to Miami's current talent.

37 % from 16-23 feet. I wouldn't say Wade's window is closing rapidly however, I think he has 2-3 of being a top 5 player in this league then he may slowly decline for a couple years till it becomes obvious.

The old adage is true: If your team wins, it's a seasoned veteran roster. If it loses, it's an old team.

Wade doesn't need to be all out like he was for the past few years. If those 3 stay together, Spo will find minutes for others and find rotations that allow Wade to rest more. Also, Lebron can take the load off of him on any given night (in the regular season). He didn't have that luxury before, and no one really does on any other team.

Good point, but have you noticed that Lebrick looks older than 26? I wonder if it's like Yi, his age was hidden to give him an unfair advantage since middle school over smaller less developed players?

I thought about that, but why hide his age as a baby? Dude has birth records and was at that school for quite some time. Nah, he's just a fucking manchild. He might look older, but he jumps out of the damn gym and runs like a gazelle. He's a beast, flat out.

Wade gamestyle doesn't suit to longevity. Players will start to guard him closer. Yeah he can hit the wide open shots now from 3 but that is because players are so fearful of his speed.
