Best interview with Pop that Don has ever done. Recommended listening if Kori, timvp or someone can provide a link to the replay later.

Although Karl Malone say's he's made up his mind about playing in San Antonio, he's not announced the final decision. There is a sign of hope if you are the Spurs. Coach Gregg Popovich talked to Ticket 760 Sports live from his vacation home in Maine Monday afternoon. He said he will meet with the Mailman face to face when he gets back home next week.
“When I get back to town we're gonna, hopefully, get together face to face and be able to talk about it, you know, what he wants to do for his family, for the end of his career,” Pop said. “So I really don't know if he's made a decision on where he wants to play. I don't know where that is, but he has told us that he wants to talk to us before he makes his decision.”

Huh? I thought the Mailman had postmarked his decision and was waiting to deliver? Just like the Postal Service.
Did he already make up his mind or not?

I liked the fact that Pop gave his thoughts on Monteiro, Barry, Linton J. and Beno. BTW, Pop now knows what the rest of FSP Forum mates learned in Kori's interview in Utah...how to pronounce Beno's name (Bay'-no Oo'-dree).
I also liked the fact that he sees Johnson as a future replacement at SF for Bruce (in so many words) with development. It all depends on his attitude, work ethic, etc.
My personal views (not Pop's): I can recall the Spurs bringing in a young guy a few years ago who had started 20+ games for his first full season and was picked up as a FA and developed into a very good player in the league. Although Stephen Jackson was and is a better player offensively, Johnson is equally talented defensively and could be another diamond in the rough.

Awesome interview.
I really liked Linton Johnson when I saw him in Utah. For being 6'8, he can really move. He's very athletic and has quick feet.
Now if he can add a three-point shot and some offensive moves, the Spurs have a Bruce Bowen in three to four years.
