lol, I agree with Kornheiser that he thought he could get away with saying it in France and it bit him in the ass.

Nice to know where his confidence level is.....

Idk why people get so mad at players for stating the truth.

It would be great if Nash made a statement about how the Suns are no longer a contender and have no chance at a ring for the rest of his career. It would crush his fanbase's hearts so much :cry

I'm surprised some gnsf hasn't made a "What happened the season after the last Mavs/Heat Finals?" thread.

Can't blame Parker for being a realist...damn shame he was coerced to retract the statement.

Seriously though, Parker is right but the team probably talked to him and got him to recant. They just want to maintain the illusion so they can sell tickets to all the dumb beaners down here.

As the current NBA is constituted the Spurs are still a legitimate contender. There has been no dominant team to surface in this playoff season. They've all flailed about, searching for an end to these games.

The Spurs have to improve the roster, integrate new players and Pop has to improve decision making. While they went down in the first round (as the Mavs the previous season) there were some chances.

Unfortunately Duncan is already a shadow of himself at this point, so the Spurs have to add an all-star bigman.

Pop has to trust his own judgment & pause long enough to grant Splitter an opportunity to be that "all-star bigman."

The further Pop finds himself from those 4 rings, the more fear is introduced into his coaching philosophy. He almost reeks of it.

Scola was that bigman, Splitter probably doesn't have enough offensive talent. As the Mavs show, they can succesfully play with Nowitzky that brings offense and Chandler who's defensive minded. The Spurs could have done it with Scola and Duncan.

Pop has won 1 playoffs series in the last three seasons, there is something wrong.

Manu is usually injured, Parker had some average series and Duncan is too past his prime. Important additions like RJ / Splitter are under utilized and Hill / Butler have regressed in the end of the season.

spurs are done, might as well rebuild trade TP, RJ, TD, and MG.
