I've seen this mentioned elsewhere but not here. My apologies if it's already been discussed.
The number one thing that SA did to disrupt Detroit's offense was bringing Duncan out to double Billups. Most teams stand around watching while Billups waits up high for Rip to run through screens to get open for the catch and shoot.
The double team forced the ball out of Billups' hands before that could happen and broke down the play that is the mainstay of the pistons offense. That's a checkmate in 4 move by Pop if Brown can't devise (and of course the players execute) an effective counter to it.
