They've pretty much accomplished the same as team leaders. I now have Dirk over Kobe all time considering Dirk has never had a dominating post presence like a Shaq or Gasol to coattail when his shot isn't falling.

TBH, that is a significant difference. Kobe has never led a team the way Dirk has so please don't compare them.

Heh...both didn't cost them the series clinching game because a much more mercurial player stepped up to save them. For the Lakers? Crazy Ron. Mavs? Jason Terry for the Mavs. Though, JET might be the 2nd best player on the Mavs which is open to debate.

Kobe played waaaaaaaaaay better defense than Dirk did that game. Also grabbed more rebounds as a perimeter player. Both played a fantastic 4th quarter, although Kobe's was stronger due to the key defensive plays.

The one thing is for sure: Both of them didn't think this was the NHL finals and play only 3 quarters like some other guy.

I'm totally cool with Dallas winning ship. The only other team I would have preferred would have been Memphis.

This year's disaster was child's play compared to 03, 04 and 08.

Please don't compare them because Dirk is obviously so much better. LMAO. Kobe averaged 32.4 PPG in the finals but that's not leading the way Dirk did. :lol

Hooray for Dirk, I'm happy for him, he's a nice guy and I genuinely like him, but you have be flat out delusional to come up with this bullshit. Kobe's career and accomplishments shit all over Dirk's.

I would've been cool with Chitown winning it too after the debacle against Dallas.

I think I'm still hurting from '08...'04 still smarts...yeah, I think '04 still hurts way bad. Ugh...lol good thing we had '08-'09 and '09-'10...

Game 4 2008 was the lowest point for me as a Lakerfan (Game 6 didn't bother me cause i knew it was over)...I was only 1 when 1984 happened, and the Detroit and Chicago series were never really close after the first couple games.

Going to an Irish bar that was pro-Celtic for that Game 4 in 2008 was probably not the best idea I've ever made, but you're right--that was just brutal. Oh well, 2 out of 3 isn't perfect, but it's better than not winning a title. That 4-0 plunder by the German and his band of Mavs on the other hand...

Mavs series was over before it started. That's what I like about the Lakers...when they're beat, they usually realize it and rarely lose in heartbreaking fashion.

That is basically true...why try when you've got more pressing things to worry bout.

Hotel and resort reservations abroad are expensive to cancel, tbh.

When you're beat, you're beat...I appreciate the Lakers not prolonging the inevitable just for the fuck of it.

Losing soundly also leaves no room for the front office to remain idle in the offseason. Losing 4-0 in the 2nd round means moves have to be made. If they would've lost 4-2 or 4-3 and had injuries, then they could justify not making moves by attributing it to bad luck/health (like the Spurs have done since 2008).

Getting beatdown is not always bad--especially when you have a FO who's willing to reload. If it had to be someone, I'm glad it was Dallas.

You're right, field goal percentage generally doesn't matter. Efficiency is an afterthought.
