Bonner has a brother who plays basketball. As long as we're grasping at straws.

Come to think of it, so does Ron Artest. And since their brothers both play, they're probably both at least as good as Marc Gasol. And we wouldn't even have to pay the relocation cost from Slovenia.

He will made All Defensive team in the NBA, Goran will have Nashtype stats. Together they will also win at least on medal at EuroBasket, WorldChampionship, Olympic games...:lol

Look, maybe I shouldn't have made a joke about it, but these are the facts:

Goran will NEVER have Nash-type stats. Not even in the Slovenian league, but definitely never in the NBA. I've watched Goran Dragic. You lose any credibility when you talk about him in the same sentence as Nash. If he's as good as Nash, you won't have to tell anybody.

More importantly, Zoran is a shooting guard. NO shooting guard is going to be the Spurs' savior. If they could get a 5-years-younger Manu Ginobili, they would still need a big man. I'll admit that I haven't watched Zoran play. But if a 5-years-younger Manu Ginobili was playing in the Slovenian league, he would be the most sought after player in the next draft. Zoran isn't.

You think Zoran will be great in the future. I guess we'll see. But when you talk about being the Spurs' savior, most people think you mean next season, or at least two seasons from now. He's not going to go from the Slovenian league to being Dwayne Wade in one season. He's just not.

Have you been on SpursTalk long enough to know who KillBillPana is? Don't be that guy. I'm willing to believe he's worth looking at. But not the Spurs' savior. Find us a 7 footer who can block shots like a young Theo Ratliff, rebound like a non-crazy Dennis Rodman, and set picks like Fabricio. Then let's talk.

we might want to draft this guy. we need an inside presences and an athletic 3. and we will be good.

No, he is not Spurs savior, but he is someone Pop would love. First of all, he is the best perimeter defender I've ever seen play in Europe and I've been watching pro basketball here for more than three decades. He is someone you could put on Kobe or Wade and expect results. He seriously is that good. His lateral speed is unbelievable and he never gives up. I couldn't insert everything he does in defense in this video, because that's like 24 seconds effort per possession, but you can see how quickly he closes passing lanes. He averages 2+ steals per (40 minutes) game without taking a gamble too much and he is willing to sacrifice his body to get results.

He is also the fastest guy down the court every single time whoever his team plays. With or without the ball. It's difficult to say if his speed would be that impressive in the NBA, but his brother is one of the fastest point guards in the league and Zoki is faster.

Speaking of his brother, Goran averaged double digit rebounds in three games he started for the Rockets and Zoki is much better rebounder. He is actually the first guard to become the best rebounder in the Finals in the history of our league. I don't know how, but he just is on the right spot at the right time. I guess, instincts.... and he really gets off the floor quick.

There are two things you can't teach. Size and heart and Zoki has both. He is absolutely fearless and he will fight any size thrown at him. The harder the contact the better he plays. What he doesn't have is a shot. There isn't anything fundamentally wrong with it, it just doesn't go in. I believe the problem is not so much in his technique as it is in his head. Good coach should fix it.

If you add good ball handling skills, mean crossover, looooong first step, strong work ethic and high basketball IQ to that, he is definitely worth #59 pick. Of course, he should stay in Europe for a couple of years more, because he still needs developing and the Spurs don't need him at the moment, but in time he could turn out to be the steal of this draft.

Now that I am writing this, I have a feeling all this sounds a bit presumptuous, but I'm not even Zoki's fan. I was rooting for the other team in the Finals.

If he can get his shot going, we are talking abut starter potential and perhaps even All NBA defensive team. If not, he is still someone you could use to pick up the pace and solidify the perimeter... and he will always get at least a couple of buckets in transition and on second chances.

And as a die hard Suns fan (which by now it's kind of obvious since I already confessed I rooted for the losing team) I will hate the Spurs even more if you draft him.

still, at this point we need strength and size, no internationals except for Kanter and maaaybe Valanciunas provides that. but they'll be gone before our pick.

Zoran -- who was both on San Antonio and Phoenix's radar last June - went undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft

After having watched him last summer with Slovenia, I like him a lot. If he develops one day a reliable shoot, he would be a very good NBA role player.

His last name is not Popatopatoupalous.

Therefore he is genetically inferior. If not related to Archimedes out of the mare Anna Markoflopanapapousia, we cant count on him.

The second photo showing Kenny Gregory covering him does indeed illustrate he can handle the extreme defensive pressure that haunts the vast majority of European venues.

To be the Spurs' savior, he'll either have to be willing to play Duncan and Splitter together or unwilling to play Bonner in crunch time.
