ESPN acts like the Pistons were in Game 1 yesterday.

After the show from the pregame show and the reality of being in the Finals again, the Spurs fucking destroyed the Pistons.

It was possibly the easiest 3 quarters so far in the playoffs.

Players such as Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Arroyo, Hunter, McDyess, and Prince were reduced to the Eastern Conference Scrubs they are.

The only positive was Billups who I guarantee will be locked up for the rest of the series.

Manu, Parker, Duncan, Nazr imposed their will on them like they were nothing.

After the initial shock, the Spurs outscored, outrebounded and outhustled the Pistons by total basketball domination.

Just like I said.

i feel the same way as duncan 21 and with the spirit of sequspur. i mean, could you imagine the spurs having lost game one by 15 and failing to break 70 points? posting the worst loss in playoff history or something like that? they'd be given up for dead. but if the pistons perform at the level they have all year (i checked out reg season stats to playoff stats. rip, billups, sheed and prince have only upped their output by a point or two. duncan's up 8 or 10, i think, and manu jumped from 16-17 ppg to like 22-24. i was going to make a new thread about having a different level but haven't gotten around to it), spurs win. they haven't shown me any reason to think they have a different level that they can go to.

Thanks for the blatant disrespect, SequSpur.

Apparently, you only watched the fourth quarter of game 1. The score after three quarters was 55-51.

The Spurs definitely destroyed the Pistons in the fourth quarter, and Manu just cut through the Detroit defense and was amazing.

But, I'm a little surprised by the arrogance of some Spurs fans when the general sense of media portrays Spurs fans as being classy and humble.

You have every right to think your team will win, but to call the Pistons Eastern Conference scrubs is quite uncalled for.

Ducks,

For a fan of a team with an *astericked 1999 NBA title, you sure know how to discredit another team's success.

The bottom line is that the Pistons are here in the NBA finals ALONG WITH THE SPURS. The Spurs are an unbelievable team and deserve all the respect in the world. If you don't want to give similar respect to the Pistons, that's fine. The Pistons are better than what a lot of Spurs fans think, and are definitely capable of playing better than the fourth quarter of game 1.

Mark in Austin

The Spurs as an organization like to hire players and staff that have "gotten over themselves" as Pop says, which is what the media has focused on.

Fans here are like fans everywhere. Some are classy, some are bandwagoners, some are assholes, and some just like to start sheyittt and talk smack.

I think you'll find that the majority of posters here give the Pistons plenty of respect, especially when compared to the fans of other teams that have started up online message boards.

Look around, the Pistons are getting plenty of respect here. Some fans will always think their team is awesome and the opponent is dogshit. That is part of sports.

Right, because Seattle without Rashard Lewis and Vladimir Radmonovic playing and Ray Allen on an injured ankle is a healthy team. And, Phoenix without Joe Johnson for the first few games is a healthy team.

Please. Injuries are part of the game. Luck is part of winning. And, for you to indict the Pistons of winning only against injured teams is hypocritical at best.

55-51 at the end of the third quarter IS CLOSE. Spurs and Manu Ginobili blew it wide open in the fourth quarter. No excuses, but the Pistons' tired legs from the Miami series showed up a lot late in the game, especially with the lack of help defense on Manu's penetration moves. Also, don't forget Robert Horry hit a last second three pointer to make the score even more lopsided.

No, the game wasn't close in the fourth quarter. But, to say it wasn't a close game at all would be untrue.

JamStone

Apparently, you don't understand the nuances of sarcasm. I only astericked the 1999 title to show the irony of you discrediting the Pistons success.

I don't personally discredit the 1999 title. I just know others (Phil Jackson and the media) have, and so I found it ironic that you would do the same to another team, knowing how that feels.

STFU. Detroit sucks. They looked terrible in Game 1. They have been the easiest opponent this year in the playoffs.

As I said before, if it wasn't for the pre2ndquarter jitters, the Spurs would have dropped a 110 spot on them and it could've been the worst defeat ever in the history of the finals.

It wasn't just the first quarter. The fourth quarter is when the blowout occurred.

But, it's fine. Keep believing the Pistons suck, and they're the easiest Spur opponent in the playoffs. When the Pistons win a game, please come back and politely allow me to cram my shoe up your a ss.

There's nothing wrong with cheering on your team but Sequ needs to see a shrink if he thinks its time to bring out the broom.

Bottom line the Pistons executed poorly in the 4th quarter and Ginobli took over the game. That is the difference. In game 2 you will see Sheed score a lot more, You will see Diceman score a lot more, Ben Wallace Score a lot more, and Richard Hamilton score a lot more.

It will be another battle, but please don't discount the Pistons ability to beat your Spurs.

LMAO.

Put Ben Wallace on Duncan and Duncan will go for 40. Put Rasheed on him and he goes for 25+ and 15+ reb and a blow out.

Pick your poison.

Parker ran a fuckin layup drill on your defense.

Manu looked better than MJ in his prime against your defense, during crunch time I might add.

Your best player Rip Hamilton looked like a scrub.

They kept it close in Game 1, but in Game 2, we all know they are gonna win because of their championship experience." If he thinks they are gonna sweep the Pistons, he should say it. Did any of you notice WHY the Spurs kept scoring higher in each quarter? They adjusted to the Pistons style of play, and that is why they are a great team. They adjusted to Phoenix's too. I personally don't think its going to be a sweep, Detroit will not let that happen.

Pistons and a guaranteed offense don't go together. What, suddenly the pistons are going to run a Phoenix type of offense through the best defense in the NBA???

Just a little FYI for you Piston fans keeping score.........

The Spurs have the best player in the NBA, both offensively and defensively. A 2 time MVP, who probably should have more MVPs but since the bullshit runs wild in the NBA, he doesn't.

Since Duncan has all the accolades, at the least the top ones, Ben Wallace has had a chance to win a few himself. Because head to head, Duncan has fucking destroyed him defensively and offensively in every game that they have played, since his career started.

The new MJ Manu Ginobili is taking flight on your weak ass defense. Dropping 15 when your defense should be peaking.

You know, I just don't see the light that Piston fans have nor ESPN.

Pistons might win a consolitory type game, but that's it.

Spurs have dominated. Spurs have been the better team so far.

No counter-argument tonite after how the Pistons got their butts kicked.

I just hope that the Pistons can play better at home, get some lucky breaks, and more favorable calls. Pistons need to play near perfect basketball and some lucky breaks in order to beat the Spurs.
