To @NewtGingrich: Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. You've lost the tea party, and your staff all quit too.

What's sad is, you basically have a Jimmy Carter presidency and no Reagan to deliver a knockout punch. This field of GOP candidates has me very discouraged.

If by a "Jimmy Carter presidency" you mean a Demo doing his best to dig out from 8 years of GOP fiscal mismanagement bullshit and coming up with the short end of the stick, then I agree with you.

Otherwise, nothing alike. Obama's desert helicopter mission actually succeeded.

What are you talking about? There are tons of dipshits like Reagan in the GOP field ready to sell the people of this nation out. Or did you mean you wish the GOP candidates were actors like Reagan so they could more effectively con people into believing not taxing the rich and going to war with everyone was in their best interests?

He means a guy like Reagan who bullshitted his way to the White House talking how the government was too big only to make it bigger while kicking the expenses forward on the national credit card.

LOL, so he wants a Reagan now that deficits have just started to matter to the Republicans again?

Why not another Bush...he was 5 times as effective at raising the national debt than Reagan...plus, Boner never went after him for the war powers act...

Current GOP position: "Oh, I'm afraid the debt ceiling will be quite operational when default arrives."

yep, really.

Barry hasn't done shit to harm the economy, unless you believe the Fox/Repug lies.

Repug tax cuts, 2 Repug wars, Repug Medicare Advantage, Repug Prescription drug subsidy to BigPharma, etc, etc, all inherited by Barry.

Even for someone as cynical as I am about Republicans in the Congress, I am still a bit taken aback by how much they are willing to gamble here.

Playing chicken with this is more irresponsible than I would have thought possible a couple of years ago.

I like Cain the best so far, but yes, I miss the presence of a strong leader.

Alright, Labor Day almost over. Now, it puts the tax cuts in the basket or else it gets the hose again.

"Reagan to deliver a knockout punch"

St Ronnie, or Ike, would be considered leftists by today's extremist Repugs.

St Ronnie is certainly the patron saint and leading edge of the VRWC strategy to regress USA back to the 1920s and Robber Baron period, but he is the abandoned godfather of his slimy spawn Repugs.

It's a shame that with affirmative action policies of the left I can only wonder if Cain was a benefit from those failed racial policies. Why does the left always bring up race?

The lousy Republican candidates are a feature, not a bug.

Republicans view Obama as an asset, you couldn't have scripted a better follow up act to Bush.

Obama has doubled down on Bush's policies across the board, while Republicans get to frame him as a socialist. It's brilliant!

Yes, it would be nice if there was a candidate I would choose over the other. Right now, I see no significant differences. Definitely no Ronnie RayGun.

Ronald Reagan would get rail roaded by the GOP of today. They'd nickname Hollywood and call him soft on every "conservative" issue.
