Now that lakerfan is slowly crawling back into the forums and trying to talk after an asswhopping at the hands of JJ Barea. :lol

Let's take a reality check and compare Kobe's latest season to Jordan's last 2 years as a Wizard:

40 year old MJ:
22 ppg
4.5 apg
6 rpg
1.5 spg
2.4 to
.5 blk
44 FG%
80 FT%

2011 Kobe:
25 ppg
4.7 apg
5.1 rpg
1.2 spg
3 to
.2 blk
45 FG%
83 FT%

facts don't lie. Kobe is aging, and not well. It's common sense that 2012 will be no better for him, but worse. He will drop below a 40 year old Jordan production. In other words, he will be a borderline allstar nothing more.

Time to wake up to reality lakerfan. Do you really believe your team can go anywhere with a 40 year old Jordan type at the helm? :lmao

My guess is that 2011 cheguevara is getting worse than 2010 cheguevara, which is discouraging since 2010 cheguevara was already a bottom 3 poster on ST.

If this goes like che's other predictions, then I guess Kobe will be MVP in 2012.

LOL, as the Spurs title chances fade, Che's posts become more desperate and pathetic. It happens.

lakerfan. please post why you disagree with my assessment? It's pretty clear and pretty simply stated. Kobe's numbers are in the decline. Please try to stay on topic.

No one said he wasnt in decline ...but to dignify a obvious and weak troll attempt, by debating you would make me as big as a fool as you are.

In the past 3 seasons he went from a top 3 player to a top 5-10 player ...some would argue higher but anyone that says he is not a top 10 player is silly. Hell dirk was not considered a top 5 player by some before last season, and led his team to a title. Kobe doesnt need to be MVP Kobe to win a title.

The only "reality" that needs to be checked, is yours.

Check.

I would say in 2 years he went from a top 3 to borderline top 10.

Next year he could possibly drop out of the top 10 and be as low as top 15-20

This sounds kinda Vince Carterish tbh.

I saw Ice Cube or Ice T whatever that jack-asses name is on Sportscenter the other day saying on a Lakers round-table, "You'll see next year Kobe has not slowed down at all" :lol

Yeah he is 33 with a bone on bone knee.. I'm sure he's as spry as ever.

The premise of this thread could become true, Kobe must markedly decline at some point. However, chances are Kobe's 2012-14 teams should be better than MJ's 2003 team, by a wide margin.

Jordan played more minutes his last season than this Season's Kobe at that age too, pretty amazing how he kept in shape.

Kobe is no MJ, but he is an all time great. He's still going strong on offense with efficient scoring. MJ at 40 missed a lot of shots, Kobe's FG% may be lower but he gets fouled a lot.

However, the Wizards had few good players, which allowed defenses to focus on MJ. Kobe played with Gasol/Bynum/Odom/Artest last season.
