So Sacramento added another year and 8M in salary commitments for the opportunity to move back three spots. The common thought was that they could absorb some extra money to move up in the draft, with teams trying to cut costs and them having virtually no money tied up.
They went in the other direction. Innovative.

Exactly what I read earlier on Yahoo Sports. Charlotte thought Detroit would take Thompson at 8 so they wanted to jump ahead of them to get to him first....
