George Hill, your best young talent, you trade for a perimeter player that shoots 29% from the COLLEGE 3, 20% the year previous to that. What a fucking joke. I'm pretty sure Tim Duncan could shoot 3s at a higher clip. When you factor in that the Spurs offense will have this scrub sitting in the corner and bricking 3 after 3 as teams dare him to shoot, it becomes even more inexcusable and unfathomable. Not to mention, James Anderson is basically the same size as this guy and way more talented. It doesn't make any fucking sense. Yeah, I'm sure this guy will see time over Jefferson. Just fucking kidding, dude. Jefferson wipes his fucking ass with this guy. I see there being only 2 possibilities here: 1) Holt told Failford to unload Hill at any cost, because he didn't want to pay him. 2) The current brains responsible for the Spurs 4 championships is sitting at the helm of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Then, THEN... you draft some absolute SCRUB to take his place at backup PG, who put up a whopping 10PPG and 3APG, and was projected to be selected in the mid-to-late second round. Fuck me.

For those assholes Holt and Buford to spit in the face of Duncan this way is a god damn tragedy. He should have gone out the right way. He's the reason the team is even still in the city of San Antonio. This is how you repay him. God damn it. I can't believe this.

As for George, you played the game the right way, from day 1. You epitomized class and humility, just like Duncan does. The Spurs will regret this for sure. Fuck. Fuck the Spurs front office. Fuck them all. Fucking idiots. Can't wait until Hill is tearing it up in Indiana and this scrub they drafted is riding the pine, so I can tell everyone 'I told you so'.

I somewhat feel the same way, except I don't think Leonard will be as bad. Lets face it, Hill is in the final year of his contract, and with the inevitable new low CBA, he'll want more than he's worth. GH3 will be greatly missed though.

It's not that he didn't want to pay him. More likely that they weren't going to be able to afford him, and instead of losing him for nothing, they went ahead and got something for him in return. Is that too hard to understand or comprehend?

I think all SPURS fan are saddened by the departure of GHill. The front office doesn't make many mistakes, but when they do (Scola, Jefferson), they are almost always ones that get fans all p****** off.

They got what they could for GHILL, probably knowing they can't resign him because of their mistake with Jefferson. Can't move Dick, so someone had to go. Unfortunately for SPURS fans everywhere, we can only watch GHILL blossom for another team into an all star. The SPURS treat their players right. They probably could've sent him packing to any team for what they got in return, but instead they sent him to play for his home team.

Yea, count me as one of the ticked off fans, but I got to give the front office some credit for treating their employees as people too.

IMO Hill was very overrated. He's a good player but the guy's defense isn't very good, he gets picked off on screens A LOT leading to wide open shots, his rotations are late, and he's a mentally weak player which is something you can't fix. His minutes will go to Neal who is a much better offensive player than Hill, a better or just as good creator on offense as Hill, better size etc. His minutes will also go to Anderson who has more potential than Hill thanks to his size and skill set, dude can pass, score, and shoot like a beast.

Leonard has been compared to guys like Marion, M'Bah A Moute, and Gerald Wallace. Most mock drafts had him going in the top 10 (around 7-10). Leonard can defend big SF's/Guards, rebound (13th best re-bounder in the country) like crazy which WILL translate to the NBA, if you did any research on him you'd know that he totally revamped his shot mechanics this off season and was shooting lights out in workouts, don't forget the Spurs have CHIP ENGELLAND. This Spurs team wants to get back to the defensive team that it once was and by drafting Leonard they're getting back to that. Leonard is also a high motor guy that hustles like crazy, has a 7'3 wingspan (bigger than Blair's, Bynum's, Splitter's etc!) with 11.5 hands, and an 8'10 standing reach. He can defend extremely well, one of the best defensive players in the draft, he has the potential to be a lock down defender in the NBA. The Spurs got a steal with this guy going at 15.

The Spurs FINALLY got a long, defensive small forward they've been going after since Bowen retired. Last year they would get destroyed by SF's because they'd score on Hill/Neal at will (they'd guard SF because there were no back up SF's on the roster!) but thanks to Anderson getting minutes due to Hill's trade and Leonard that won't happen anymore. Don't forget Leonard may even start with RJ's piss poor play!

As for Joseph, he was just a rookie at UT with a lot of talent, obviously the Spurs' FO saw something special in this guy so they drafted him. I trust our FO 100% with their draft picks. It's been said that Joseph is a very good defender with great lateral speed.

Remember the Spurs aren't done making moves. They still want to get rid of RJ very badly and they can sign or trade for a big man during the off season.

All I heard was "I'm wrong. I will be reminded of it by the bumping of this thread. Kawli Loser = James Gist Jr.

joshdaboss
06-24-2011, 12:27 AM
As a true freshman, dumbass. Those are good stats for a true freshman and Joseph brings more to the table than just stats. He'll develop into a damn good on the ball defender at this level with experience and he can hit the corner 3

Great. When is it that you expect he'll develop into this damn good on the ball defender? 4 years from now when the Spurs are completely irrelevant? That will be nice. The move will have paid off.

edit: It really won't matter if he does develop into something good, anyway. He will be traded, on draft night, for 5 cents on the dollar. Why? Well, because the owner is cheap and also a drunk.

hahahaha. i don't normally feed the trolls, but this is too funny

Leonard is exactly what the Spurs needed.

Currently we have a SF who does zero for the offense, plays average defense at best, doesn't hustle, and doesn't rebound especially well.

By getting rid of a ROLE PLAYER, we were able to grab a SF who probably won't contribute much of anything on the offense end, but should play way above average defense, rebounds well for his position, and should bring a lot of energy.

Thats not including getting a guy at 42 that everyone thought the Spurs would go after at 29, and having another player in Europe who could potentially come over as well.

oh yeah... to the OP.... Leonard and Anderson are in no way the same size. Lenoard is 6'9" and has a wing span of like 7'3". Anderson is 6'6" on a good day.

The only time I have been wrong was a completely right time to be wrong for the purpose of being wrongfully right. I was right in being wrong, because to justify being wrong I have to admit I was rightfully wrong attempting to be wrong for the sake of being right. Wrongfully wrong=rightfully right, no matter how wrong I might be. So you see, I am always right. Wrong is just a way to be right.

I am sooooooo not drunk.
