Chris Duel and Jason Minnix interviewed San Diego St.'s Head Coach Steve Fisher - this following an amazing 34-3 record last season.

Here are Fisher's thoughts about Kawhi Leonard...In notes form:
Kawhi will fit the personality of the coaches, players and fans in San Antonio.
Kawhi came in as a freshman having been named Mr. Basketball in California, yet not as heralded as some other players in the country.
He does a little bit of everything in his game. He's a winner.
If you shake his hand, it will engulf your hand. His hands are biggest since Chris Webber.
Kawhi is the best rebounder Fisher's ever coached.

Tragedy of Kawhi losing his father led to a better appreciation of life. It made him better.
Quiet softspoken and humble young man. Kawhi is someone Spurs fans are going to love. It will be that way forever. One of the reasons he chose SD St. for his school was to be close to home. Very family oriented.

He was the leading scorer and shot attempts leader as Freshman and Soph. yet none of the other upper classmen thought twice about it. The respected his game. He can do a lot of things. Very unselfish. He will look like an NBA player right away when you see him.

Kawhi will fit the Spurs because he does what he needs to do to help you win. Things a coach appreciates at both ends. Tough and strong. Play multiple spots. ..at both ends of the court. Good ball handler. He even played the point and they also brought him off some ball screens. He has a real nose for the ball. Relentless.

Asked what is Kawhi's weakness. Needs to work on his perimeter shot. He's good off the bounce and on the floater. He will put in the time and become a good shooter. His outside shot has improved already.

Tough guy who I believe will have a lengthy NBA career.

Yeah his shot is definitely improved. If you watch the Sports Science video ESPN posted, he seems to have learned to tuck his elbow in. Also has a higher release now. I believe it was Chad Ford who said Kawhi was hitting 3 pointers at a workout recently but I may be wrong.

Coach Steve Fisher. SDSU plays a pro style set and Kawhi was the man for that team. But unlike Jimmer for BYU, Kawhi did more than just score.

Kawhi Leonard Will Be A solid Player just Because Of his Hard work and Determination..... Everything steve Fisher said Is true..... I live in San Diego, and Went to about 6 games and saw him Live. He can definately play on both ends of the floor, but he does need to work on his shot a Lil bit......I think He is A Typical Spur..... Works Hard, Soft Spoken, Respectful, And does what It Takes to try and win a game.....
