Not sure how many of you are aware of what went down this past weekend in the derby between Olympiakos-Panathinaikos or if any of you are aware of the commonplace match fixing that has plagued Greek football since the 1996-1997 season in favor of Olympiakos.
Saturday seemed to be the last straw in terms of what can be accepted on the football grounds.
From the game being delayed for about 10 minutes as our goalkeeper was pelted with various objects and flares to some of the most laughable fixed refereeing you'll ever see in a professional football match.
Numerous incredibly hard and late challenges went without bookings while perfectly legitimate goals like the one in the image below were "disallowed" as a result of an "offside."

The same linesman who had been approached by members from the Olympiakos bench numerous times during the match for intimidation purposes which resulted in no acton from the referee. Other incidents included the calling of phantom fouls to avoid punishment for Olympiakos as seen in the image below where an Oly player commits a clear handball in his own penalty area.

The match was ultimately decided on an Olympiakos goal in which 2 players were in an offside position and where a handball was ignored.
At the conclusion of the match the "security" of Olympiakos allowed a certain part of their hooligan group to enter the pitch where the proceeded to attack numerous players such as Cisse, Kante, Simao, Govou and a number of others.

As a result of not only this game but of over a decade of corruption on the part of the reds many teams around the Greek league are even talking of pulling out of the league.
Panathinaikos has already stated that they will likely pull their players out of the Greek NT until there is a serious change in the way things are done and is also seriously considering fielding our academy team for the rest of the season.
Many other top clubs such as Paok, Aris, AEK etc... are also calling for the resignation of Olympiakos' president who also happens to be president of the entire Greek league itself.
Numerous prostests have broken out through all of Greece as well.
I'm sure many of you may have heard about this as some of our most prominent figures in the footballing world such as Cisse, Jesualdo Ferreira and Gilberto Silva have reached out to the presses in their home countries with what was up until now a relatively well-kept secret.
