:lmao:lmao:lmao because there's the Supreme Court ruling Roe V. tbh since every congressman is bought off anyway, i'm pretty sure the republicans could buy off some federal judges if it was really the huge priority to them that they pretend it to be.
The only way it could be made illegal is if a state (since it's not a law that can be made on a federal level) passed an amendment making it illegal, someone brought it to court, and the case made it all the way to the Supreme Court. After that, states would still have to pass laws against abortion on an individual level unless there was a constitutional ban on abortion (which there will never be). Liberal states like Massachusetts will always be a place where you can get an abortion.
It's not like the Supreme court can reverse Roe v. Wade anytime it feels like it.
What happened to, ":lmao why can't the Republicans just make it illegal :lmao!"

Article Five of the United States Constitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution) describes the process whereby the Constitution may be altered. Altering the Constitution consists of proposing an amendment and subsequent ratification.
Amendments may be proposed by either two-thirds of both houses of the United States Congress (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Congress) or by a national convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convention_to_propose_amendment_to_U.S._Constituti on). This convention can be assembled at the request of the legislatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_legislature_%28United_States%29) of at least two-thirds of the several states (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._state). To become part of the Constitution, amendments must then be ratified either by approval of the legislatures of three-fourths of the states or ratifying conventions held in three-fourths of the states. Congress has discretion as to which method of ratification should be used. Any amendment so ratified becomes a valid part of the constitution, provided that no state "shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the senate," without its consent. And?

1) Have the Republicans had 2/3rds of the majority? They've had 60%, i don't remember if they've had 67%.
2) It would still need to go through the Supreme court. You can't make a constitutional amendment that goes directly against a Supreme Court ruling.

Even if they got 2/3rds of the vote, it would be a matter of time before someone brought it to court and it got pushed up to the Supreme Court where they could nullify the new amendment. The only way abortion will ever be illegal again in this country is if Roe V. Wade was overturned whereas States had the ability to pass laws on their own for/against abortion. No matter what, Massachusetts, California, New York, etc. will always be places you can go to get an abortion.

This was posted yesterday:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/06/24/988070/-Louisiana-adds-to-this-years-huge-spike-in-anti-abortion-legislation
My favorite part:
As the non-profit Guttmacher Institute has documented, Louisiana is hardly the only state passing new anti-abortion legislation this year. In fact, as shown by the chart above, 2011 has generated a stunning increase in new abortion restrictions at the state level. The laws enacted represent less than 10 percent of more than 900 measures introduced since the beginning of the year. You can see the latest (June 1) update by Guttmacher here and a table of changes for the whole year here.
A partial list of the new laws and those proposed: abortion bans to replace Roe v. Wade introduced in 20 states; requiring abortion providers to have hospital privileges introduced in 11 states (enacted in Indiana and Kansas); targeted regulation of abortion providers introduced in 20 states (enacted in Arkansas, Kansas, Utah and Virginia); ''Choose Life" license plates introduced in nine states (enacted in Texas and Utah); state funding of alternatives-to-abortion services introduced in four states (enacted in Kansas); abortion coverage bans in health plans offered through health exchanges introduced 24 states (enacted in Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah and Virginia, vetoed in Montana); bans on private insurers' coverage abortions introduced in 15 states (enacted Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Utah, with a voter initiative on the ballot in Florida); bans or curtailments on public funding of abortions for low-income women introduced in 16 states (enacted in Maryland, vetoed in Minnesota, ballot initiatives approved in Florida and Tennessee); restrictions on late-term abortions introduced in five states (enacted in Kansas); bans on "post-viability" abortions introduced in five states (enacted in Kansas); bans on abortions after a certain gestational age introduced in 17 states (enacted in Idaho, Indiana, Kansas and Oklahoma, vetoed in Minnesota); state-directed counseling introduced in 11 states (enacted in Indiana, Kansas and North Dakota).

the country didn't go nuts whenever bush allowed 9/11 to happen and started attacking countries for oil, or when jeb bush THREW THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION in 04. Or when Obama went to war with libya without congressional approval and used doublespeak on us saying "it's not war, it's kinetic military action." point is they can get away with anything the fuck they want under the table if they can throw a presidential election. just face it, abortion isn't as big of an issue for them as they crack it up to be.
If a president ever got caught red handed in a bribery scandal with indisputable proof released to the public, this country would go nuts. If there ever is indisputable proof that George Bush allowed and contributed to 9/11, this country would take about 48 hours to dissolve into anarchy.
DUNCANownsKOBE
06-25-2011, 05:49 PM
if there's no indisputable proof for any of that then there certainly wouldn't be for a little bribery tbh.
It's a little easier to cover up wrong doing as a president than it is 1 of 9 supreme court justices. When Scooter Libby was being investigated for jeopardizing a secret mission and endangering an American spy, Bush got to appoint the attorney to investigate his own cabinet member. A supreme court justice wouldn't be able to pick who investigates him.

If you're a bible banger from Arkansas who feels adamant that marriage is between a man and a woman and feels that defining marriage is America's most important issue, there's no fuckin way you'd vote for Ron Paul over traditional Republicans like Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin or Mike Huckabee.

if i were not a celibate i'd applaud loud for the legalization of gay marriage and i'd want as many gay couples as possible, with all gays quitting there should be more females for the straight guys to choose from. the number of lesbos might be growing but it ain't no where near the number of gays and ain't exceeding it anytime soon. it ain't bothering me to see some gays/lesbos in streets here mayne, normal boy/girl love scenes just disgust me as equal tbh

But you are a well known yellow faced, slanty eyed slope faggot anyhow.
If they hit on you then they must've assumed you were gay. What gave them that impression?
He just blew one of them in the restroom, no homo... just half a fag.
I will say this.....when King David killed a man so he could have sex with his wife...from what I'm told the baby was killed by god because of the way it was conceived...but at certain stages or during the first few weeks of the first trimester it's not a baby...even embryo's in labs...they put those things in freezers so they can't be babies...don't know that people can just put live babies in freezers when they go on vacations...lol
But republicans care only for embryo's or babies while it's in the womb..as soon as it's born they couldn't give a fuck....tbh
It's been thoroughly proven here time again, especially in this thread, that your mouth and ego are much more prominent than your education. You don't even know your own Bible: "From what I've been told"...
You post like a 40 year old Southern housewife tbh. You believe, you don't know why, but you fall back on your rhetoric time and again.
If you are attempting to portray a Laker fan as a colossal dumbass, you are doing a fine job.

He's doing an even better job portraying gay bashing bible bangers are dumbasses too, not like they needed his help.
And yeah, he sounds like a Southern housewife who does nothing all day but watch Fox News and as a result of being an empty headed cunt believes all the rhetoric she hears on that station. He sounds like one of those people who probably thought Ann Coulter was right when she said nuclear radiation is good for you.

I agree there is an obvious need for the military, but the way many minority young adult males who can't pay for college are taken advantage of by the military is no different than strip clubs taking advantage of girls who can't pay for college. Strip clubs, howeva, don't brainwash strippers into thinking that they're protecting our freedom by giving lap dances.
To be honest, most of the kids who think that about the military thought that same way before they even joined. The military brainwashes you in certain areas to enhance your effectiveness, but they don't usually end making people change core convictions about how military power should be used.

tbh it was added for a specific reason and was meant to annoy a certain poster for a precise reason. Since its still succeeding splendidly in that respect it stays.
i aint readin through all that bullshit. but me personally, i dont give two shits about a dude and a dude wanting to get married. quite frankly the whole "marriage" thing in this day and age doesnt really have the meaning it did pre-90's. i honestly think marriage will cease to exist.

I just don't buy the "You don't choose to be gay, you are or you are not" bull. You are born a man or a woman, that's it.
