Remember when I stated that McDyess wouldnt do anything but kill our chances of winning and everyone on here gave their 2cents about how great McDyess would be?
Remember this year when we ran and scored over 100 all the time and won?
Remember then how POP started McDyess 20 or so games before the season ended, we started not scoring as much and lost a bunch?
Then remember how Pop kept that up during the playoffs and F'd us in the A?
These are all reasons why I think that Leonard was a stupid pick. It will be great to watch him in the regular season running the floor. And then Pop will sign Kurt Thomas to play SF. Our team will be
Bonner, Kurt Thomas, McDyess, Tim, Arvidis Sabonis.
Cant wait.

Thats not the point. The point was our coach is an idiot and when we had the best record in the league started him over Blair. He continued this into the playoffs and our scoring plummets. It didnt take a genius to realize how negatively a washed up big was killing our chances.
McDyess = nice guy crappy for more than 5 min on the court.

I usually don't hammer people this hard, unless they start talking like you. So here goes, dumbshit. Let's talk about what the "real fans" remember.
I remember that the Spurs got their asses kicked by LA, so Pop decided to try McDyess in the starting lineup. (I'm guessing that he recognized that they would have a problem in that area, come playoff time, and he wanted to have some time to get the new lineup used to playing together.) I remember that after McDyess was put into the starting lineup, the Spurs won 6 of their next 7 games. Do you remember that?
Then I remember that Duncan got hurt, and the Spurs lost their next 6 in a row. (Two of those losses after Duncan returned, but at less than 100%.) And in three of those losses, with McDyess starting, the Spurs scored 112, 104, and 114. Those losses had nothing to do with McDyess vs. Blair, and everything to do with Duncan being injured. Did you remember that?
Then the Spurs had 4 wins in a row, with McDyess starting. And in those games, the Spurs scored 114, 97, 124, and 111. Doesn't sound like having McDyess in the starting lineup slowed their scoring down too badly, does it? Did you remember that?
Then came the last 2 games of the season, and the Spurs didn't give a damn if they won or not. Pop held Duncan out of the first one (against the Lakers) and Ginobili only played about 2 minutes against Phoenix. Those games meant nothing. But... McDyess didn't start against the Lakers, and the Spurs scored 93. McDyess did start against Phoenix, and the Spurs scored 103.
Take out the 6 games after Duncan went down, and the Spurs won 10 out of 11 with McDyess starting. And they scored over 100 points in 8 of those 11 games. Remember that?

I see. So these are likely separate trolls. Good, then this could be the beginning of a legit Troll-Star starting five. We would need one more, though to equal five. We've only mentioned four in this thread including OP.

I actually agree with your conclusion - Pop shouldn't have started Dyess over Blair, that was a panic move in response to the LA beatdown and the team never seemed to re-gain it's edge after that.
However, the premises you used to reach that conclusion are bullscheiss.
We don't beat 2010 Dallas without his defense on Dirk and 2011 Memphis series would have been even worse without him on the roster.

Who said he didn't? Everyone played like shit you fucking dumbass, crying about Dice starting over Blair is idiotic and only a retard with no basketball knowledge and an aching pussy who is just looking to bitch about something would think the ideas presented in the original post are legitimate reasons for why our team failed. If you really think this is the reason we lost against Memphis, stop watching basketball. You suck.
Ed Helicopter Jones
06-28-2011, 11:48 AM
McDyess was the only big on our team who played his ass off against the Memphis guys. He got scored on, but not due to lack of effort. Blair was getting rolled on...Splitter was too soft. If we'd of hit some shots in that series we could have won. What cost the Spurs against Memphis was 31% three point shooting after hovering in the high 40's all season...not McDyess's play. Go back and watch that series again.
My only beef with Dice is that it looked like he ran into a lot of leg pain towards the end of the season. There seemed like a few games where he would limp off the court only to somehow return ready to play later. And then he got that injury in the playoffs. :(
However even hurt he was the best combination of defense/offense in the frontline other than Duncan.

What a fucking Nostradamus we have over here. Newsflash retard, there are 30 teams in the NBA and 20+ don't have a single title, so resting your hopes on Antonio McDyess is fucking retarded. He is a role player, not a difference maker. I bet you were probably one of the ones blowing the Spurs during the regular season and then jumping on the Celtics/Lakers/Bulls/Heat bandwagon until each one of them got destroyed. You have to be the only idiot on this forum blaming the dude that busted the most ass, played like a man, and had the balls to call his teammates out.

When I was in high school at John Jay, there was this kid who was in my English class. He was a tall, chubby kid with a horrible shaggy haircut like Harry from Dumb and Dumber. He always wore the same jeans everyday, and a green nylon aviator jacket with flight patches all over it. He wore that jacket EVERY SINGLE DAY, even the end of the school year in May when it was like 95 degrees outside.
Because of the jacket, everyone called him Commander Clyde, as that was his first name. He was always called names and just straight disrespected, so I felt bad for him. One day, I was made small group leader for an assignment and I chose him to be on the group because I thought "Maybe if someone was nice to him, he'd be cool." He turned out to be the biggest fucking arrogant dickface I'd ever met. The worst part is, he thought he was right about every stupid thing he would say and would never relent, even make shit up just to 'prove' his point. That guy was the absolute greatest douchebag. I always wondered what happened to him...
