New Orleans Hornets big man Aaron Gray has informed his team that he will be opting out of his contract and testing the waters of free agency.
Aaron Gray stands 7'0" and 270 pounds, he would be a good addition to the Spurs. He's only 27 years old, and I don't expect any team to throw a huge contract his way, so I believe this could be our guy. His contract option was for a little over $1 million, he would probably bite at the chance to play with a team ready to make another push for a :lobt2:
He's kinda soft, but mentally strong; and is an actual BIG.
Already an upgrade over ginger boy.

The Spurs really wanted to draft him the year before he came out. Instead he stayed in college another year and then the Spurs didn't make a play on him the following year.

The Spurs need to make a play at either this guy, or Fesenko. They both have the size, and ability to clog the lane which the Spurs desperately need out of another one of their bigs not named Duncan.

He would really help Timmy in the lane. He did a really good job against the Lakers in the playoffs guarding Bynum & Gasol. Dude has size, and is quick. He won't give us a lot of points, but he rebounds, defends the paint, and he could come cheap. :flag:

He'll yes. He went to Pitt, so he knows what it is to play defense.

You always wonder why a 7' guy with skill can't get significant minutes in the league. Maybe the guy is trouble in the locker room or has a terrible BB IQ.

To me most bigs are like NFL offense lineman it takes them much longer to develop and only a select few can come in from day one and actually start on a team.
