For those of you that haven't already, I highly suggest picking this book up. It's a quick read and absolutely demonstrates the bad assedness of our Navy SEALS. I didn't realize it until I got about a quarter of the way thru, but I actually went to High School with one of the men that was killed.

It's about the SEAL team that was taken down in Afghanistan in 2005 by Taliban forces, but they fucked shit up first.

Just thought I'd share.

Definitely must read for Tea Potties. Especially the "liberal media killed my teammates" part.

I had a better time with Joker One (http://www.amazon.com/Joker-One-Platoons-Leadership-Brotherhood/dp/1400067731) from Donovan Campbell...

:rolleyes That's about right for this forum, the first and only response to a book recommendation about a story of a SEAL team being ambushed in a war is one that only points out something terribly insignificant to the overall story of the book.

I did enjoy "Joker One" though as well.

I just thought the Lone Survivor book was absolutely amazing, prolly cause it turned out I knew one of them.........and it made me hate the Taliban a lot more than previous.

However, answer this Elnono, should they have killed the goat herders?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not criticizing your recommendation. I also think the story is remarkable. I just definitely think there's quite a bit interspersed in it that Tea Potties will find reassuring.

IMO, no... hindsight is 20/20

The movie is freaking intense. i don't know how the hell they could film some of those scenes without killing a stunt man or two.

^ The movie must be made in a real seal training camp where trainees are really/literally being killed. Seal team kills its trainees, don't you even know that? It shouldn't be such a mystery to someone who signs his own paychecks, imho.
