During the lockout players will not have insurance. If negotiations get bad enough could David Stern and his "mafia" cause a certain high profile player to become injuried and thus sway players to agree to terms?

If he goes too far, he won't have a USA*Basketball team to tout next summer....

But is too outrageous to think that maybe Stern could have Amar'e suffer a simultaneous knee and eye injury after being chased and pecked by a pack of highly trained NY pigeons?

Stars are made and stars are laid to rest. New stars can emerge. Restart the league with tryouts and no ex-NBA players allowed.

This is an interesting point. If there is no season next year do you think that the NBA owners would be willing to use replacement players to cover lockout costs and perhaps even make a profit for 2012 and beyond until the players capitulate?
