I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for just random baseball shit that doesn't really deserve its own thread. A lot of times I have comments I want to make on teams/players or things in general but don't think they merit starting a thread and/or don't feel like bumping a semi-relevant five year old thread.
To be clear this shouldn't resemble that other Random Thoughts thread or even worse that Quattro thread. In other words it shouldn't look like the world's shittiest shoutbox, but just a place to put interestng shit that doesn't deserve its own thread. There's no need for semi-witty, self aware douchiness or lame dry humor just baseball ddiscussion with jokes where appropriate.
Anyways, I really liked this Willy Mo Pena piece:

Its kind of long but if you are a fan of sportswriting in general, I think this is a real good example of it. People always complain about shitty writers/writing but don't often enough provide what they think are examples of good sportswriting unless it conforms to their general agenda/views on something. Anyways, I'm sure this Pena guy has been subjected to a thousand Pedro Cerrano comparisons and Jobu jokes.
