Just as the title says. Does the Spurs' ownership and operation of the Toros effect them differently than other teams in the nbdl? Specifically, can nbdl teams negotiate with players? What about players that are draft picks of NBA organizations? Does the NBA's CBA cover the NBDL? And lastly and most specifically; how does the lockout affect ability of the spurs to negotiate with players like ryan richards in terms of bringing them to Austin?

richards really isn't playing in a high level right now and I feel like bringing him over here asap should be a top priority so we can see what we've got and monitor/direct his progress.

I've seen conflicting reports whether unsigned draft picks can sign D-League contracts during the lockout. They have been able to in the past.

If he can sign a D-League contract, he'd have to go into the draft but it wouldn't be too difficult for the Toros to trade for him.

Somehow, I think the owners are going to allow it, seeing the mad dash to revive (LA Defenders) and acquire franchises since the lockout.

What I was told by a NBDL employee is if a player was on a roster last year at all they can not play in the D-League.

Denmark or not, shouldn't you want to see these kinds of games? He dominated who he was supposed to dominate.

I hope he somehow makes his senior team if that's even possible now. Can't learn much from his beating up on pasty white children every other game.

exactly. its good to see him beating up on a team he most definitely should beat up on, but you dont improve your game by always being a level or two above your competition. he needs to come stateside so we can see him compete with other fringe nba players and see how he stacks up against other serious threats to make the league.

Ryan Richards scored 18 points and 25 points in two games against Belgium U20:

Even if it's a crappy level, it's a very good news to see Richards back after a whole year off. U20 division B European Championship start in 4 days.

@LarryCoon (http://twitter.com/LarryCoon) NBA says NBDL will go on as planned. RT @BigSamSFO28Left (http://twitter.com/BigSamSFO28Left): If the NBA misses games because of the lockout, will the NBDL miss games as well?

just saw this on espn.com's nba page
