I need the good folks of ST to help me out here!

I'm not commuting to San Francisco every day for my work, so I find myself sitting in the train for about an hour. I figure a good way to spend the time would be to buy some sort of media center with games(mostly), maybe some music. I'm not really familiar with anything like that, what are some good things to buy?

Mostly looking to play some nice games(mostly rpg), watch a few movies, etc. Been browsing craiglist and I saw some psp's for about 100$.

Basically I'd appreciate some advice for the type of device I should be getting.

I think you would get more use out of a tablet PC for what you are looking for, an iPad or something like that.

Im a hardcore gamer and I would rather get something like an iPad at any time rather than a PSP.

I don't know anyone who has ever been glad they bought a PSP, and I know lots of people who have had one (including myself).

they still make those? I thought they were discontinued along with PS2. Ancient technology IMO.

I would not buy anything from Sony these days.

New Windows 8 will come out soon. It will be mobile enabled which means probably really good mobile games a la xbox360. Android games suck these days. And Apple are not for hardcore gamers.
