What does his religion have to do with this, Darrin?

This, coming from a Muslim, who's religion is far less free for women that the Christian faith? He stereotypes Christians in a manner he would be offended for us to stereotype Muslims.

He's a walking talking oxy-moron.

The real insight here, to the un-cultured, would be that there are progressive Muslims who don't fit the hand-chopping, woman-covering, terror-loving savage stereotype that people like Darrin are obsessed with.

Darrin's point, I'm sure, is that this guy is a hypocrite.

He didn't even say anything about Christians.

You're right. That's even worse!

It's a stereotype he's applying across a broader set of people than I jumped to the conclusion of.

I'll bet a few number of cases can. I wouldn't expect a change in a large number though.

I'd actually think that to the extent that he's stereotyped at all, his point is applicable to a narrower set of people than the earlier parts of this conversation suggest.

He's certainly not stereotyping Christians.

It seems quite apparent to me that his argument concerns a smaller subset of people whose social policy arguments could be construed to support minimizing the role of women. That's certainly not a broad group of people within the electorate.

Bachmann could say that the moon is made of green cheese and WC would argue that there's probably a small part of the moon that is, in fact, made of that substance.

One would have to be would be very closed-minded to rule it out in advance, that's for sure.

Regardless, he is really ignorant if he believe the stereotype he presents.

Do you dispute that there are some political sects in the conservative movement that promote social ideas premised on a homemaker model/ideal for women?

"premised on a homemaker model/ideal for women?"

there's "Christian" assholes now who expect the wife always to defer to the husband, since the stop reading the Bible at the end of the OT.

Who believes that? Mr and Mrs Bachmann.
