Unlike the players, this guy has current contractual obligations to the Spurs. Why doesn't he think of that before he goes down there? The Spurs are paying him millions of dollars to coach for them, not to go to some international tournament - what if he gets hurt climbing the arena stairs?

SANTA FE. - Gregg Popovich, the coach of the San Antonio Spurs, will visit the city of Mar del Plata next month to watch the Olympic qualifier tournament, which will qualify teams to the London Olympic Summer Games in 2012.

The announcement was made Tuesday night by Matías Sejem, executive director of the organization committee for the tournament to the Marca Personal radio show which is broadcast by Radio La Red in Santa Fe.

Sejem also mentioned that Popovich, who coaches Manu Ginobili in the San Antonio Spurs and is a fundamental piece of Argentina's National Team, will also run a NBA basketball camp in the coastal city (Mar del Plata).

The Olympic qualifier tournament will be played from August 30 to September 12, and will qualify two teams to London 2012.

Argentina, whose roster includes the golden generation players, will play in Group B, along with Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Paraguay and Panama.
