Gore won NY State in 2000 by 24.3%.
Bush won Texas in 2000 by something similiar.
Now Kerry is polling with single digit leads in NY.
If that was happening to Bush in Texas you would cite it as proof of a coming Kerry electoral landslide.

No, I would cite it as trying to read to much into one poll.

Okay...
What will you say when the number are reflected in more than one?

Sure, sure. Kerry is looking rather weak across the nation. Something better change for him quick or else this is indeed...Dukakis II.

Yeah, the CBS plan blew up in their face...there's only two networks left.

Kerry has made some campaign mistakes and he is still tied with a incumbent President. Not great, but also not bad at this point in the campaign if you ask me. I get gitty every time a W supporter is ready to hang the 'Mission Accomplished' sign on this Presidential campaign.
Kerry's campaign was dead in the democratic primaries. He even had to take out a multi-million dollar loan just to keep his campaign alive. Nobody gave Kerry much of a chance, but the caucuses changed all that. Kerry proved that, like in Vietnam he is a fighter. That is what W and his supporters should fear most between now and November 2.
One general rule in politics is to always attack your opponents strength. If you are to listen to the GOP mouth-pieces this week one of the democrats strength lies in Carville, Begala, and Greenberg. In one move, they may have put the integrity of the media, already highly suspected of leaning toward W, under much closer scrutiny and have completely taken the wind out of the sails of the Swifty boaters.

Attack your opponents strength?
What's Kerry's? That "he's not Bush"?

Kerry is positioned more poorly, going into the last month, than any Demoncratic candidate of the past 60 years.

And now the arrogance we all know Kerry posesses begins to show!

W has no strengths. The economy sucks, a million less employeed people since W took office. Al-Queda and the Taliban are resurging in Afghanistan. We are no closer to capturing Bin-Laden than we were on Sept 12, 2001. Our boarders have been left unguarded because W thought it was more important to guard the Iraqi boarders first. Airport security has gone back to private firms because of a lack of proper funding at the Federal level...and on..and on..and on...

Great. So we have W's weaknesses down.
What are Kerry's strengths? Is it possible to list them without referring to Bush? You know, us political retards want to make an informed decision.

W has no strengths. The economy sucks,
How so? By what measure? GDP growth? Inflation rate? Interest rates? Unemployment rate?
a million less employeed people since W took office.
The popping of the tech bubble and the effect of 9/11 on the financial markets might just have had something to do with that.
Al-Queda and the Taliban are resurging in Afghanistan. We are no closer to capturing Bin-Laden than we were on Sept 12, 2001. It won't matter.
People see what they want to see.
I see Bush as Dubya.
Some see Kerry as Frankenstein.
I see Bush as the Poppa Smirk.
Some see Kerry as Gomer Pyle.
