To me a gamer is someone who plays just about anything they can get their hands on.... Then there are subsets... Not true "Gamers"...
This isnt a labeling competition, nor am I trying to call anyone out... I'm just curious what the mindset of us Spurstalkers are when it comes to games.
Do you play anything and everything? FPS, RPG, Indie, Action Adventure, Puzzle, RTS, Turn based, PS3, XBOX, Nintendo, PC... ect. You get the idea.
Or are you strictly one Genre?
Like.... I know people who ONLY play FPS games and they call themselves Gamers..... They are not. They are FPSers.
There's nothing wrong with sticking to one genre, I've done it myself from time to time... Back in the 90's I was strictly FPS after the likes of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom came out.... Then I moved strictly to RPG's and wouldnt touch anything else.... These days, I find myself playing alot of Indie games, especially Minecraft, Mount and Blade (which could be considered a Mideaval FPS) and Terraria. But I also play alot of other diverse stuff like Battle Field, Dungeon Siege 3 (trying to get my fix waiting for Diablo 3) and various MMORPG's.
I've even find myself going back to obscure classics that I LOVED back in the day like Nox (a HIGHLY underratted game) and Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri (Someone REALLY needs to remake this game with todays tech, maybe a Mod in the Source engine or something).
So, after all that rambling, do you stick to one or two play styles/Sytems? Or are you a true Gamer?
