I mean, he obviously failed at controlling and directing the Republican owned House. He is a failure of a president! Impeach him! :bang

No calls here, or no calls from the Tea party terrorists in the House?

Some have rather openly discussed it, for various reasons. Not entirely illogically, IMO.

Ignoring the debt ceiling law would seem to be reasonable grounds, as would defaulting on our bonds, if funds were available. (we do get some revenues, enough it seems to fund the bonds, but not much else)

I find neither to be really all that far out.

By the same token though, it is the house's responsibility to fund/spend/tax etc.

If one is going to impeach the president over such things, then what do you do with the House of Representatives that bears equal, if not more responsibility?

well I meant impeachment calls for allowing the US to default. US has never done that, who knows if that is an impeachable offense? As you say, there have been impeachment calls for stupider more illogical things.

My point is, is Obama really to blame for not controlling the Republican owned House? Makes no sense yet he is being blamed by the Republican House and many posters here.

I'm pretty sure the Repug assholes (oops, that's redundant) in the House will impeach Barry in the next few months. Like the fake debt ceiling crisis, the Repugs will do anything to impede doing govt business (Boner has passed 12 bills, vs 100s for Pelosi) and do the max to harass Barry like they harassed Clinton.

^^ Haven't several Repugs gone as record as saying "We cannot pass any form of this debt solution or Barry will get reelected."?

Hell no.

Not unless Biden resigns first.

The most compelling arguement against impeaching Obama that there is.

How did I know it wouldn't take long for a Palin reference to get made once Biden's name came up?

It's like Pavlov's dog. Ring the bell by mentioning Joe Biden's name and the good little doggie will give a Sarah Palin bark.

"Palin reference to get made once Biden's name came up"

watcha got against "fair and balanced"?

coyotes_geek

How is Sarah Palin relevant to a conversation about who becomes the president if Obama got impeached? Did Obama make her a co-VP with Biden?

But, if it's fair and balanced you want, fair and balanced you will get. We are incredibly fortunate that Sarah Palin is not in the presidential line of succession. We are incredibly unfortunate that Joe Biden is.

There. I've pointed out that Palin and Biden would both be bad presidents. Happy now? Has the proper balance of the internet been restored?

Oh I see the link. I just think it's funny how blue team feels the need to bring up Sarah Palin every single time someone points out what a fucking idiot Joe Biden is.

Biden, as DC insider, is of a lot more trustworthy, centrist than a quitter/outsider/venal/dominionist-nutter like Palin.

Biden is dumb? He's a lot smarter than a Useful Idiot like dubya or St Ronnie.

The Dem-controlled Senate ain't gonna impeach Barry.

House Repugs impeaching Barry would be a great way to distract Congress and the people, a great way to demonstrate just how badly Repugs want government to misgovern to prove their St Ronnie lie that "govt IS the problem".

The GOP is a mess. The ideological split is glaring and the only thing keeping them together is our asinine 2 party winner take all system.

Impeaching Obama would be a great way for Republicans to lose the momentum they have by drawing attention to the fact they aren't trying to accomplish anything meaningful.

yep, Barry is definitely right of center, sucking up to Banksters while cutting the safety net (today), making old, sick, young, poor pay ALL of the costs of the Banksters crimes.

Congress actually addressed this and decided not to contest it. Had they done so and he continued then they would have grounds. They did not so they do not.

Fully reviving the ancient and estimable practice of outlawry by putting US citizens beyond the law's protection on the President's say so, among other things, has caused me to revisit the question of ranking as between Bush and Obama.
