son its estimated that Becky the bulldog makes $450K per year over there ... Sue Bird was making $500K per year there and Diana Taurasi was getting $1M per year and neither of them had to sellout their own country to get it.

"sellout their own country to get it."

what sellout? it's a job, an apolitical job, not endorsing a foreign country, not condemning USA.

She's representing Russia in the olympics, though.

Herb Brooks... the mastermind behind the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" USA Men's Hockey team coached the French later on in his career.

He REPRESENTED the French as their head coach.

Is he a traitor?

Was she invited by the USOC? I'm sure US and Russians pay their athletes and VERY comfortable per diems and all expenses paid. iow, it's still a job.

Coaches have always, and will always represent their team. They make players play better, for their country. You don't represent a country by coaching, but the team. On the other end, players represent their athletic ability which reflects the culture of their country. Coaching is abstract, a good coach can come from anywhere. Athletes, on the other hand, each country gains a reputation for producing a certain caliber of athlete.

Brazilians get rep for having some of the best soccer players, Russian & Canada hockey players, African nations runners, USA has basketball and China gots ping-pong. Our sports reflect our nation, our teams reflect our nation, our players reflect our nation. No country is reflected by coaching, it's an abstract ability that doesn't really define any country.

Your girl, Becky Hammon, learned ball in USA. She plays most of her ball in USA. Even if WNBA is a joke, her skills are the product of US competition and teaching. Bringing those skills, which represent US basketball (a huge cultural thing for this country) is strongly against the notion of competitiveness in the Olympics.

son please get the facts before you spew ignorance like that

Most WNBA players go overseas to play in the leagues over there in order to make more money. Becky however wasn't good enough to make the U.S. Olympic team here, so she represented Russia in the Olympics playing against the U.S.

Becky is like the Megan Fox of the WNBA. Overrated and nothing special to begin with.

Sue Bird is straight up the real deal though. Beautiful, funny, and a CHAMPION.
