Doesn't this Joint committee sound almost exactly like the committee that was being suggested last year when we were mired in the 2011 budget arguments? The one that no one wanted, so Obama created his commission (simpson bowles). Strange.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner called together top officials from U.S. business groups Monday for a last minute rally to get the debt ceiling bill passed.

Top officials from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,Financial Services Forum, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, American Insurance Association, Financial Services Roundtable, American Council of Life Insurers, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, American Bankers Association and the National Retail Federation were all present.
