Manu tore it up that year, he ripped Prince and the Pistons defense a new asshole in the Finals, the same defense that shut down Kobe in his prime and caused Kobe to shoot his team out of the Finals the previous year.

Thanks so much man, I've been looking for footage of this game for years.

IMHO, Manu's greatest game in the NBA.

I don't care what anybody says, I would be damn confident going to any war with this Manu as my main guy.

I remember noticing after game 3 the pistons changing their whole defense in order to stop manu. and they did from gms 3-5.
Ben wallace and Sheed rotating over him, and letting tim more free.

That is Manu for you. You see moments of that brilliance like this, then moments that make you say he just is a step below some top level talents. But he always plays hard and that is why you love him. He has had more moments that made me enjoy watching basketball than any other Spur.

I think he had like 30 pts in 8 shots at one point in this game.

Manu was so fucking unreal that season

He had a lot of possessions back then

I dont know why overrated Pop wanted Parker to have the ball more than Manu the following seasons :pctoss

It's also reminder of when the Spurs used to have size in the middle with Nazr Mohammed. I think the Spurs would have done better the past two season if they had a decent center. After watching his play with OKC against the Grizzlies I think he could have still helped the Spurs. Splitter gave the Spurs their first decent center they've had in a while. They used to have decent centers in the past like Nesterovic, Mohammed, Elson, and Oberto. A decent center would draw attention from Duncan, provide a target for passes and get a dunk/layup or get fouled.

I can admit I took those guys for granted... you really notice after a few seasons with Bonner and Blair at the C.

That being said, I also now realize Pop is wanting Matt to take on Horry's role... lol@Pop for that tbh.

Manu should grow the hair out long again and do a comb over.

Thatīs right and never relised it.
Thanks for recall me that.

And it was maybe the team where Kobe could share a lot of the load if he wanted, so to shoot your team out with so many options is a compliment of the type of defense they played.
