Former UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, Affliction and DREAM fighter Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou has a new home, as the light heavyweight has signed with Maximum Fighting Championship.
Sokoudjou will jump right into a title fight, facing Ryan Jimmo on October 7 at MFC 31: The Rundown in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

"I am extremely excited to see what happens with Jimmo and Sokoudjou collide. I truly believe it will be the most explosive title fight ever in MFC history," said Mark Pavelich, Owner/President of MFC in a statement released. "Ryan is a terrific champion and represents the MFC like no other fighter ever has before. Now we're going to see how he handles the athleticism and pressure that Sokoudjou will put on him."

Sokoudjou (12-8) has won his previous three fights, all three of which have taken place in three different countries. He defeated Valdas Pocevicius in Israel, Jan Blachowicz in Poland and Roy Boughton in Canada in June.

Prior to his recent string of victories, Sokoudjou suffered back-to-back losses. He last fought for a major company in the United States in 2009, falling to Gegard Mousasi at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers.

The MFC card will be broadcast on HDNet and will also showcase bouts between Richie Whitson and Kajan Johnson, and Mukai Maromo and Sabah Fadai.
