I've changed the title for people who also want to talk about Americas tournament.
2011 Eurobasket will feature up to 8 players (Parker, De Colo, Richards, Bertans, Hanga, Lorbek, Javtokas and Sanikdize) who play for Spurs or whose NBA draft rights are owned by Spurs. If you add the olympic qulaifying tournament in Argentina with Ginobili, Splitter and Joseph, there will have up to 11 players related to Spurs playing this summer FIBA competions.

Is this just a friendly game or does it mean something?
It's a friendly game part of a tournament between ex Yugoslavian countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Macedonia).
All games played before August 31 will be friendly games. The only exception are for Hungary (with Hanga), Finland and Portugal who will play a qualifying tournament for the Eurobasket.
Lorbek doing typical Lorbek in this game even if he isn't playing great.

Brazil: Tiago Splitter
Puerto Rico: Peter John Ramos, JJ Barea, Carlos Arroyo, Renaldo Balkman, Daniel Santiago
Venezuela: Gervais Vazquez, Eric Musselman (coach)
Gregg Popovich will also be hosting a basketball camp in the city.

I just think Mangnano didn't want to risk him against a weak opponent on a meaningless game. It's the right thing to do.

France bigs playing super sloppy.

45-21 at the half for Spain. :rollin
Spain is playing great with an awesome Pau Gasol. France sucks with a poor effort defensively and an inability to hit outside shots. De Colo and Parker are bad.

He has been naturalized and FIBA allows national teams to have 1 naturalized player.
For some naturalized players, it's legit but they are a lot of abuse. It's mostly with small countries but Spain is now doing it and they should be ashamed of that. They stole players of other countries like Ibaka and Mirotic.

Final score: 77-53 for Spain.
Spain was damn impressive. They are so deep and so talented. I seriously think they can beat the USA at the Olympic games next year. Team USA better bring their A team next year especially in the paint to counter Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol and Ibaka.
Parker wasn't that bad but refs haven't helped him. De Colo was a no show. Gelabale would look great with a Spurs jersey.
Hungary lost 71-66 against Portugal. Hanga scored 11 points.

Doubtful, he's just playing against men now.
Thats exactly right..RR will be fine but there is going to be an adjustment period for him though since he will now be playing against faster, stronger, bigger, and smarter players now that he is on the national team for GB. Should be fun to watch his development as he gets more used to the competition he will be facing on this level.

Some random news about the friendly tournament in London:
- Parker is still balling.
- Highlights of GB/France with some nice plays form Batum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5jyTfHnSI
- Pop is still here: http://twitpic.com/67lg2s
- GB lost against Croatia 75-70. Richards played 12 minutes and was scoreless.
- Turiaf broke his hand and is likely out for the summer. Rumors are that former Spurs Mahinmi will be call up instead of bringing back Traoré who was cut a week ago.

Random news of the day:
- Liuthunia beat Spain 88-76. Valanciunas shows again that he is for real. Javtokas injured his elbow. The full game is available on youtube.
- London results of the day: France beat China 76-59, Australia beat Croatia 78-66 and Serbia beat Great Britain 97-95. Boxscores: http://london2012.fiba.com//pages/eng/fe/12/olym/p/asid/8509/eid/8509/rid/8549/sid/8509/schedule.html
- Parker was given a day off, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pop behind this. De Colo scored 14 points but he continues to struggle shooting the ball like he did the whole year in Spain. Richards went scoreless for the third straight time. I wonder if he will be cut soon.
- Hungary won't go to the Eurobasket after another loss against Portugal. It sucks that Hanga won't play at a high level this summer. I haven't seen these games but Hanga stats during the qualifying tournament looks quite bad.

This summer has confirmed that some players whose NBA rights are owned by Spurs are nowhere near ready to have some kind of impact with Spurs:
- Ryan Richards played 5 games with great Britain in a tournament in London and didn't scored a single point.
- Davis Bertans barely play with Latvia despite the team missing a lot of players. He was also quite bad at the U19 WC.
- Adam Hanga did nothing great with Hungary and they failed to qualify at the Euobasket with a 0-4record.
Cory Joseph could soon join this list of players far away of the NBA level. His debut with Canada surely wasn't promising.

I don't have the wisdom to estimate how many years he was away from an Euroleague career, so I rather go with facts.
Richards did not play in Austria.
(why am I not surprised that someone who struggles to figure out the accurate position of a player on a court also isn't able to find the right country on a map.)

Magnano reveals 12-man squad
San Antonio Spurs center Tiago Splitter and Barcelona Regal point guard Marcelo Huertas will be the leaders of a star-less Brazil as their three top players were unavailable for coach Magnano.
Nene Hilario, a 28-year old free agent, who averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game during the last NBA season playing for Denver Nuggets, was the first one to withdraw from the team as he decided to prioritize his professional career.
Leandrinho Barbosa, who represented Toronto Raptors during the 2010/11 NBA season, followed Nene as he resigned the call for personal reasons.
He has just signed a deal with Flamengo, one of the most popular teams in the Brazilian League, where he will play during the NBA lockout.
Anderson Varejao was planning to play in Mar del Plata but an injury in his right ankle ruled him out of the tournament.
Magnano, a gold medallist in Athens 2004 with Argentina, announced the roster with still a week to go from tips off.
"I'm really optimistic," said the Argentina-born coach. "We don't even think about the players that are missing, we have a great team."
Tiago Splitter will have to do his best to replace missing centers Nene and Varejao.
"There are high-level players from great teams from Brazil and Europe," explained Tiago.
"The job has to be shared and we will all have to do a little bit better."
