Wow...

TOLEDO: Authorities in Ohio say a woman who died after falling face first into a recycling bin had gotten stuck in a spot where she couldn't breathe.

The woman's husband says he came home from work and found her legs sticking out of the container that sits alongside their porch.

He tells The Blade newspaper of Toledo that he first thought it was a dummy. He says he shook her legs and knew she was gone.

A coroner in Toledo says that 62-year-old Sheila Decoster died Friday from positional asphyxia.

A city official says it looks like she was standing on her porch when she leaned over and fell into the 64-gallon container.

Her husband says Decoster had several medical issues that could explain why she fell inside.

I shook her leg and knew she was gone, well at first she said she was still alive but she's always been one to lie. The next day she was stiff.

It's not like she was extremely old in which case I would take that back, but she was only 62 years old. She should even be thankful at her death because she got to live 62 full years as a human, when she more appropriately should have lived a couple of weeks as a blade of grass. Couldn't even shake around to knock the container over and crawl out???

crofl I still can't get over this, I wonder if she actually tried to get out. This very well could have been an unexpected suicide...an accident that essentially turned into suicide once she was in the container and possibly thinking fuck it, I'll just die here, whatever. lol it's quite possible somebody actually saw her fall in and was across the street laughing, not thinking an actual human was going to die.

Yeah. No shit. I hadn't even thought of that. How was she even able to fall in. I don't think I could intentionally fall into one of those head first. Unless maybe she was 7 feet tall.
And how slow was her death? If she was stuck in there, any kind of movement should have tumped it over.

Maybe we haven't heard the end of the story.

She was probably some old neighborhood bitch and a couple of kids stuck her in there as a joke.

well perfect example, look at that picture. There's a retaining wall right beside it. Even a small child could fall in there. And as far as not being able to move, she may have given herself a concussion or whatever that dazed her, or at least something to that extent. And if she was a bit of a fatty and her arms were stuck to her side then..

After thinking about it though, it has to be assumed the bin was full or partially full. Otherwise, what was she doing trying to get into it anyway. So maybe it was heavy enough and she was tall enough for her to pull it off. But I suspect foul play.

I'm guessing she was trying to get something out of it that was towards the bottom. And the back of the bin doesn't have to face the elevation that I'm assuming was there, it could have opened to where the lid was on the side

Maybe. But she'd have to be nuts to think she could get anywhere near the bottom of the bin.
