Now it's time to buy another one.

Another one, lol.

I'd probably buy a 2nd one for 200 because of the media streaming alone. I'd pay 250 if it had an N wifi card built in. As it stands, 250 for a media streamer with only a g card doesn't really seem like a good idea to me.

Good price drop though. PSN debacle aside, great console.

You gotta wonder what MS is doing right now. Sony has the Vita coming out soon, ,a bunch of exclusives, and all MS has is Gears of War. They have to be working on something else, right?

All the staff is working on Windows 8: Non-Suck Version?

I sold my last ps3. Why I'm looking at another one. InFamous 2 and a 320 gig for $299 is a steal, no?

I need to get a new one my phat sounds like a jet engine. Have a feeling it's gonna die soon.

I was hoping for more than a $50 price drop though.

My guess is they're mainly focused on the next console.

If my income was more stable than student loans and grad stipends, I would seriously consider picking up a second one for $250. I'd be able to then use my launch edition PS3 as a glorified PS2 and extend its life. It hasn't given me a single problem so far, but considering how often I use it (it handles all of my gaming, DVDs, BluRay, Netflix, and all other streaming) it's only a matter of time before it starts to show its age.

You might as well push the old one until it dies and then perhaps a new one will be $150-$200 by then.

it was a great deal at 299, it's a way better one at 249.

Which is what I will likely end up doing, but my collector/packrat nature hates the idea of losing about ten or so years (including the old PS2 memory cards that were copied over to the PS3) worth of skill points, trophies, and game saves.

Assuming there's even a downloadable version of the first Ratchet & Clank available to play on new PS3s, it would suck to have to get the gold bolt that's hidden in a cave on Orxon again. Gaining access to its hiding place takes at least ten shots from the Visibomb gun, and the ammo is so expensive you really can't afford to do it until your second playthrough. Third or fourth if you want to by the max health and the R.Y.N.O. That shit was a moment of pride.

I might actually buy one. I've been postponing it until the price would be reasonable, and we're right there.

Love my PS3, got my money's worth out of it. It's my BluRay/DVD player, game console (though I only have about 5 games), Hulu/Netflix streamer, and streamer for video off from my PC.

I had an X-Box 360, it died after about 6 months. Never bothered to get it fixed or replaced..

How is hulu iyo? One or the other or both? I'm pretty satisfied with netflix stream and was wondering what hulu has that perhaps netflix doesn't.

The price drop is indeed a steal. Might pick up another for the bedroom so I don't have to disconnect and take it to another room when my wife's family come over :lol

I hated Hulu+ on my PS3.

I really am tempted to buy a 2nd one for media streaming in the bed room but hte lack of an N wifi adapter really annoys me because in order to get good media streaming in there I'd have to actually have it wired via ethernet.

Why not buy a 20 foot cable and drill come holes?

I actually don't use Hulu+ that much anymore, the restrictions are getting pretty rediculous.

Now it's time to buy another one.

New downgrade from 3.70 just came out yesterday too. Might be good timing to buy.

If you're referring to modding it, no point with a modded 360.

Oh yeah, I forgot they took out the PS2 compatibility. Shows how much I have been following gaming the last few years, lol.

Can you mod the slims?

I got 2 modded 360's one is banned and the other one has a fucked up disk drive. That's why i don't use it anymore. The only way i can play a game is by installing it on the hard drive and i only got a 20gb hd..

You don't need the drive key.

You don't need the drive key.

Sure you do?. Every drive has an unique AES key stored in the flash, and the console is 'married' to that drive's key.

My roomate hacked his ps3 and he doesn't have a key is what I meant. He quit messing with it cause getting some games to work was a royal pain. He plays the games off an external HDD.
